Samsung SM-J100H price leaked by Russian retailer

Samsung Galaxy J1 price
A Russian online retailer has leaked the price of the first smartphone in the upcoming J-Series from Samsung. The leak reveals that the entry-level Samsung J1 LTE SM-J100F will cost the equivalent of about $170.

After launching the mid-range Galaxy E smartphones series and the premium Galaxy A series, it looks like Samsung will soon launch an affordable line-up as well, the J series. The J1 first leaked online back in November when the Samsung SM-J100F was spotted in the GFXBench database along with most of the hardware specs.

Today the Samsung SM J100F was leaked by a Russian retailer ahead of the official announcement. Besides unofficially confirming that the South Korean manufacturer will soon launch the Galaxy J series, the new leak also reveals the price tag. According to hi-tech.mail.ru, the Russian retailer listed the smartphone at 10999 rubles. That is the equivalent of roughly $170 at the current conversion rates. Interestingly, the retailer names the smartphone simply the Samsung J1, but the placeholder image reads "Galaxy J".

Unfortunately the retailer did not mention the technical specifications. In November when the handset was first leaked, the GFXBench website listed specs such as a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels, a 64-bit Armada Mobile PXA1908 chip from Marvell, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP primary sensor, and a 2MP front-facing camera. All of these components are expected to be powered by a 1850 mAh battery.

Previous rumors claimed that the J1 will come with Android 4.4 KitKat, most likely overlaid with Samsung's own TouchWiz interface. Samsung is also expected to release a dual SIM version of the handset, as well as an LTE version.
