Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK tablet could launch on August 20

Samsung and Barnes & Noble announced their partnership back in early June and the result of their joint efforts may launch later this month as a co-branded Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK is expected to be the first such device and recent developments show that it may arrive as soon as August 20.

The two companies have recently started to send out invites to an event that will take place at the Barnes & Noble store in Union Square, New York. The headline of this event is "Join us as the best of both worlds come together." and considering the brands in question it is very likely to see the launch of a 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 tablet which is already on the market, but also bearing the NOOK name and loaded with custom software, reading material and special offers from both Barnes & Noble and Samsung.

Barnes & Noble's first NOOK tablet arrived back in 2009 but the company did not succeed in controlling a significant share of the market. Now the result of this alliance with Samsung may help, but remains to see what happens on August 20 and after the first Samsung & NOOK devices reach their new owners.
