The certification document spotted on the website of the Wi-Fi Alliance only shows a few details, as usual. Based on the information it provides, we can only confirm that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8 Star will launch with Android 8.0 Oreo onboard and features dual-band WiFi support.

Although Samsung still has to confirm its arrival and the commercial name, the SM-G885F/DS handset has recently surfaced online in various places. Leaving the rumors and leaks aside, the alleged Samsung Galaxy A8 Star was spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance with Android 8.0 Oreo onboard, but it also visited the Washington-headquarted Bluetooth Special Interest Group, widely known as the Bluetooth SIG.

According to the leaks and rumors related to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, this handset will launch as an upgraded variant of the existing Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) and its list of specs and features should include the following: the Exynos 7885 SoC (the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor has also been mentioned by some sources), a 6.3-inch full HD+ Infinity Display, 4 GB or 6 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, a dual-camera setup on the back with 24 MP + 16 MP sensors, as well as a 3,700 mAh battery.

As it usually happens with such sketchy reports, there is no information about the pricing and availability of the upcoming handset. However, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star (SM-G885F/DS) is rumored to launch in various international markets as well and not only in China as it happened with various A-series Galaxy handsets that Samsung released in the past.

At last, if anyone was wondering, the Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance documents revealed that the SM-G885F/DS supports Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band WiFi. These come on top of the Android Oreo mobile operating system that we already mentioned, of course.
