Deal | Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB SSD discounted by 72%, hits lowest price thus far on Amazon
A surprisingly large number of popular SSDs has received notable discounts over the past few weeks, and storage solutions made by the South Korean market leader Samsung are certainly no exception to this consumer-friendly price trend. For example, the well-known and proven Samsung 970 Evo Plus has now reached its lowest sale price ever.
More precisely, Amazon is now selling the 2TB version of the Samsung 970 Evo Plus, which is a PCIe 3.0 SSD with sequential read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s, for US$139 including free shipping for Prime members and regular customers. This deal constitutes a significant 72 percent or US$360 in relation to the rather unrealistic MSRP, but Camel's price tracker also indicates that this sale offers nice savings over the actual average price of the Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD, which currently stands at US$178.
In contrast to some other affordable storage modules in this price range, the Samsung 970 Evo Plus features a superfast 2GB LPDDR4 DRAM, which means that this SSD should work really well as a primary drive in modern laptops and desktop PCs. Moreover, this 2TB version has a competitive endurance rating of 1,200 TBW and is covered by the usual five-year limited manufacturer warranty. For US$139, the Samsung 970 Evo Plus is a decent bang-for-the-buck PCIe 3.0 option for buyers who don't need the last bit of performance that faster PCIe 4.0 SSDs have to offer.
