Reddit's new Pro Tools for Publishers allows media outlets to publish and track their content on the platform. The new tools are currently in beta testing for Reddit Pro users, and outlets such as The Atlantic, The Hill, NBC News, and The Associated Press are already using them.

Reddit has announced new publishing tools as part of Reddit Pro, a free-to-use toolset for verified businesses on the platform. Called Reddit Pro Tools for Publishers, the latest suite of tools enables media houses to quickly share and track their content on the platform.

Reddit is positioning Pro Tools as an alternative to the rapidly changing Search ecosystem, which is predominantly shifting towards AI. In a press release, Reddit claims it wants to become the place "to find headlines and discuss stories with real, human perspectives."

The new Pro Tools are currently limited to beta testers as part of Reddit Pro and are housed within an all-new "Links" tab. Publishers will now have deeper analytics tools and greater insights into published articles, showing them how they are shared.

Publishers will also be able to import articles into Reddit automatically by syncing their RSS feeds. They will also receive "AI-powered community suggestions" on the best threads to post articles in.

Reddit says it has been Alpha testing the Pro Tools with dozens of publishers already, like The Atlantic, The Hill, NBC News, and The Associated Press. It's now accepting new applications for the beta test.

Besides this, it's also testing a new way to read articles on the platform. Instead of using links, users will be able to access articles directly on the Reddit app and join in on comments and conversations with a simple swipe.

Reddit says these tools, "are just the first step in empowering publishers to engage more deeply on Reddit and giving users a conversation-forward reading experience."

Reddit will host a training camp at the Online News Association Conference (ONA) in New Orleans from September 10 to September 13 to discuss the new features in more detail.
