We previously covered Detroit: Become Human in October, providing a short overview of the game and its reception. To recap: it's an interactive adventure where you play as three androids whose lives repeatedly intersect, forming a larger narrative. The focus is on storytelling, with gameplay that mainly follows a point-and-click structure, elevated by time-sensitive choices that add urgency to your decisions.
German gaming magazine GamePro’s review praised Detroit: Become Human for its wide range of player choices, its extensive scope across 32 chapters, and its strong replayability. However, it also pointed out a slow beginning and some clichéd character writing. The game received a score of 80 out of 100 from GamePro. On Metacritic, it holds a Metascore of 78 and a User Score of 8.0. On Steam, roughly 190,000 user reviews have been posted, with 96% of them being positive.
When we reported on Quantic Dream’s title in October, it was available at 80% off – a historic low at the time. Now the developers have raised the bar, offering a 90% discount. According to SteamDB, the price has dropped from around $40 to just under $4 for the first time. The deal is valid until January 5, 2026. Handheld gamers will also be glad to hear that Detroit: Become Human is verified for the Steam Deck (which currently sells for about $460 on Amazon).
