A mere ten days after launching the low-cost Realme C11 in India, Realme has launched yet another affordable smartphone in the country. The Realme 6i is a scaled-down version of the Realme 6, and it is priced accordingly. Prices start at INR 12,999 (US$173) for the base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. INR 14,999 (US$200) will get you 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory. The phone will be available for sale starting July 31 on Flipkart and Realme's official website.
The Realme 6i comes 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel clocked at 90Hz. It is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. High refresh-rate displays are few and far between in this hypercompetitive price segment, and Realme seems to be the only company that wants to bring this 'high-end' feature to the masses. There is a 16MP under-display selfie camera nestled at the top right corner of the screen. The phone's rear camera array has four cameras with a 48MP wide-angle lens at the helm. It is coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2 MP portrait lens.
Under the Realme 6i's hood lies a MediaTek Helio G90T SoC, which is powered by two Cortex-A76 and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz. Its ARM Mali-G76 MP4 GPU comes with a clock frequency of 800MHz. The Helio G90T is MediaTek's flagship gaming SoC and has received several accolades for its performance. The chip even outperformed a Samsung flagship phone in prolonged gaming sessions.
The Realme 6i comes with a 4,300mAh battery that can be charged at 30W. However, you will have to look at third-party solutions if you want 30W, as the charger that comes out of the box is rated for 20W only. Realme says that it takes a little less than an hour to charge the battery fully. The phone also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The phone will run Android 10 customized with Realme UI on top.
