A Reddit user got far more memory than they ordered from Amazon
A Reddit user was surprised to receive ten memory kits from Amazon instead of one. The costly error resulted in them receiving about $2,700 worth of free RAM.

We’ve all heard horror stories about users getting rocks and other mystery objects with their Amazon orders. On the flip side, there have been success stories where users have hit the proverbial jackpot, with one fellow scoring a neat $6,000 worth of SSDs. Redditor AccomplishedFan8690 has now shared their success story, and it is arguably one of the best deals one can get.

The user paid $300 for a single 32 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 kit and received a box containing 10 kits in total. The error may have stemmed from the warehouse, where a worker may have misinterpreted one kit as one box. Essentially, they got $2,700 worth of free memory—320 GB in total. At the time of writing, similar kits cost about $400 on Amazon

As RAM gets scarcer in the coming months, it could be worth far more, provided AccomplishedFan8690 is willing to sit on it for a while. However, they plan to give back to the community and sell it off at a discount. If the OP is located in the US, Amazon cannot legally ask for the memory back. Inflated prices notwithstanding, they still stands to make a hefty profit from the error.
