Pure35 compact camera launches for £30 with flash and optical viewfinder

The British camera retailer Analogue Wonderland presents Pure35, a brand new analog compact camera that is also available in bundles with 35mm film. While the camera is relatively inexpensive, suitable film must be purchased separately – a pack of three 36-photo Kodak UltraMax packs, for example, costs around $31 on Amazon.
The Pure35 is a very simple compact camera, as the shutter speed is fixed at 1/120s and the aperture is always f/9, so the light sensitivity of the inserted film is the only way to adjust the exposure. In order to take approximately correctly exposed photos in daylight, film with a low light sensitivity such as ISO 100 should therefore be used. The camera has a built-in flash for taking photos at night
The wide-angle lens offers a focal length of 31 mm. The small optical viewfinder only shows around 70 percent of this field of view, meaning that the exact frame can only be estimated. Nevertheless, these simple features make the Analogue Wonderland Pure35 not only inexpensive, but also small and light – the camera measures 119 x 67 x 44 millimeters and weighs 122 grams. A single AAA battery is sufficient to power the camera.
Pricing and availability
The Analogue Wonderland Pure35 is now available at the online store of the British retailer. The camera costs £30 ($40). The shop also ships internationally, but the price does not include shipping and import costs.
