The LG G5 was introduced early this year, following the footsteps of the flagship G4 from last year. LG has made a set of notable improvements to their latest flagship OLED, making it quite an attractive high-end option. Now, interested customers who have been hesitant regarding the 65-inch G5's premium price will be pleased to discover that the impressive TV is now available with a massive $1000 discount on Amazon, bringing its price down to $1,999 for a limited time.

Needless to say, picture quality is by far the most important aspect of any high-end television. RTINGS' comprehensive review of the LG G5 paints an overwhelmingly positive picture, which is to be expected considering the G5's eye-watering price tag. In HDR content, the G5 pulls off 2,400 nits of sustained brightness in a 10% window, and just shy of 1,000 nits in SDR mode. These numbers are extremely impressive, and exceed the OLED competition from Samsung and Sony.

Of course, there is no blooming whatsoever, since OLED panels utilize pixel-level dimming unlike mini LEDs, which rely on dimming entire sections of the backlight, thereby causing varying degrees of blooming around bright objects in dark scenes. OLEDs also sport features that gamers will appreciate, such as negligible response times. Color accuracy of the LG G5 is excellent, although its color volume, while decent, cannot keep up with the high-end QD-OLEDs from Samsung.

RTINGs did note that the color accuracy of the G5 prior to calibration leaves much to be desired, although once calibrated, the unit performs perfectly fine. Other features of the LG G5 OLED TV include a 165 Hz refresh rate, great viewing angles, and four HDMI 2.1 ports. Google TV enthusiasts may not particularly enjoy the G5's webOS 25, but it is still good enough to get the job done. At its current all-time low price on Amazon, the 65-inch LG G5 sure does offer great value for high-end OLED hunters.
