The 5.5-inch Android smartphone can be used to charge other devices and is now available for $180 USD.

The original Oukitel K10000 has now been updated to the K10000 Pro with slightly higher specifications across the board including more RAM, more storage space, a higher resolution display, and a faster processor:

  • 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen
  • 1.5 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MTK6750T SoC
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 32 GB internal storage
  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • Dual-SIM (Nano + Nano)
  • 10000 mAh battery
  • 16.20 x 7.80 x 1.40 cm
  • 297 g

In comparison, the original Oukitel K10000 ships with a 5.5-inch 720p display, quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6735 SoC, 2 GB RAM, and half the storage space. The newer Pro version even sports a sharper design, but the signature 10000 mAh internal battery remains unchanged. This is still significantly larger and denser than the internal batteries of most popular smartphones of the same screen size such as the Huawei P10 Plus (3750 mAh), Lenovo P2 (5100 mAh), and the iPhone 7 Plus (2915 mAh). The K10000 Pro can even act as a portable battery bank for other devices if needed.

Obvious drawbacks to such a large battery capacity are the increases to size and weight. The Oukitel weighs almost twice as much as the Huawei P10 Plus and is almost twice as thick as the iPhone 7 Plus. Additionally, import buyers will have to double-check that the 4G LTE radios in the K10000 Pro will be compatible with local wireless providers.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s. When I'm not managing day-to-day activities and US review articles on Notebookcheck, you can catch me following the eSports scene and the latest gaming news.
