Oppo Find 9 may have Snapdragon 823 SoC, 8 GB RAM, and 4100 mAh battery
Oppo announced its last high-end Find 7 smartphone two years ago and has yet to launch a true successor to the series. There have been various mid-range offshoots based on its design ever since, but nothing worthy of the flagship title. New evidence from Weibo now points to an Oppo Find 9 coming soon and with stronger specifications than previously predicted.
According to the unverified leak, the Find 9 may be equipped with the following:
- 5.5-inch Super AMOLED QHD display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 or 823 SoC
- 8 GB RAM
- Dual 21 MP rear cameras with OIS + 16 MP front-facing camera
- USB Type-C 2.0
- 4100 mAh battery
- Android 5.1
Other notes including the proprietary VOOC charging technology for faster charging despite the fact that the Type-C port will be limited to USB 2.0 transfer rates. Should the Find 9 really carry 8 GB of RAM, then it would join the ranks of the rumored LeEco Le Max 2 Pro as being one of the first consumer smartphones with this immense amount of memory capacity. Note that the Snapdragon 821 or 823 has yet to be announced by Qualcomm, so the leak should be taken with a grain of salt. It's also quite odd that the Android OS will not ship as Marshmallow considering the high specifications of the device.
Earlier leaks on the Oppo Find 9 claimed lower specifications. Thus, it is entirely possible that the manufacturer may launch multiple SKUs of the Find 9 similar to the multiple SKUs of the current OnePlus 3. Launch dates for supposed Find 7 successor(s) remain unknown.
