The inclusion of NFC to this OPPO device is a bonus given their history of exclusion of this. The exclusion of wireless charging, which does help keep the device price low, is somewhat disappointing but for a device sitting sub-$500 beggars can’t be choosers. This can be overlooked thanks to the inclusion of the VOOC USB-C fast charging solution.

As an entry level phone, it’s a bit on the pricey end of things but it’s still cheaper than other competing phones in the market with an AMOLED display and it has the benefit of coming with a relatively complete set of accessories out of the box. The OPPO A91 is well worth a look for casual users seeking a sub-RM1,000 phone an emphasis on fast charging and a vibrant AMOLED display for general use with.

When we focus at only the phone itself, there is nothing wrong with the phone itself. The chipset might be a little dated, but it still works great. The camera is decent and the battery life is pretty okay.

There are things that make the OPPO A91 an attractive option such as the display and camera configuration. Personally, I can survive with a normal LCD display instead and have it save more on the battery. However, I can probably see why some would prefer AMOLED instead.
