Opera Software might not be doing great nowadays, but it's good to see them continue the fight to stay afloat. Opera 56 for Android might not be a big leap forward, but it's a decent update with quite a few noticeable improvements nevertheless.
Released earlier today on Google Play, Opera 56 for Android features customizable address bar buttons, tab restoration improvements, as well as various tweaks to the reader mode. Its interface also suffered a few changes — for example, the default address bar action button is now activating the reader mode. This button was previously used to reload the current page. Now, performing this action requires the user to swipe down from the top of the web page and the Reload action can be found in the menu.
Fortunately for those more pretentious users, the address bar can be easily tweaked to suit their needs. The shortcuts available to use as defaults are — in addition to the aforementioned Reader Mode and Reload — Share, Find in Page, Save as PDF, Add to bookmarks, and Translate.
Opera for Android has been rated by over 3,100,000 users so far and holds a very good score of 4.6 out of 5. With more than 100,000,000 installs so far, it is one of the most popular mobile browsers for Google's platform and definitely deserves to be taken for a spin — if you haven't done so already, of course.
