As we are drawing closer to Apple’s September launch for the iPhone 11 lineup, fresh new leaks are now fueling the rumor mill that has been slowing down in the past few weeks. Most of the previous leaks focused on the A13 Bionic SoC and new rear cam setup that is expected to integrate three sensors, including a super-wide-angle lens capable of capturing pics with a 130-degree field of view. The latest leaks, however, are shifting their focus towards a feature that has never been seen on iPhones.
According to some alleged renders provided by smartphone case maker Olixar featured on the Mobilefun online store, there will be iPhone 11 variants (most likely the Pro and Max models) sporting a stylus on the back. Apple tried to stay away from digital pens in the past, since Jobs himself was opposed to such devices. However, now that Apple is facing declining sales, the company could be willing to explore new designs. If this indeed is the case, Apple would finally enter the flagship phablet market and provide strong competition for Samsung’s Galaxy Note lineup.
The Olixar renders also provide a peek at the frontal display, and it looks like the notch is still there. It could be just a placeholder image, but knowing how reluctant Apple is towards new designs, pop-up selfie cams will most likely be introduced after 2020.
