Nubia Red Magic 3
ZTE has heralded into existence the much-anticipated Nubia Red Magic 3 with a huge bang. Not only the physical design of the smartphone alone is enough to steal the hearts of many aspiring professional gamers, it also houses high-end specifications to live up to an elite gamer’s goals and dreams. Needless to say, the flashiness in style and the exciting prospect for the Red Magic 3 of possibly being the next handheld gaming console of the generation promises much more for those who manage to get their hands on this cool and stylish device. At first glance, what certainly catches the attention of the eyes would undoubtedly be the stunning and extraordinary aesthetic of the phone. The Nubia Red Magic 3, living true to the precedence and reputation of its title as a gaming smartphone, boldly dons the color red with much fierceness and pride, thus honoring a striking but distinguished resemblance of those of its earlier Red Magic predecessors. An RGB LED stripe embellishes the center of the rear exterior of the phone as a welcomed highlight for a finishing touch. To top that off, akin to other gaming devices in the scene – be it in all sizes, shapes, and forms – the aforementioned RGD LED stripe is indeed, fully customizable by users to their liking. Should the bold red color has somehow, yet to capture or elude its audience’s heart in one manner or another, the Nubia Red Magic 3 now comes with a limited edition Camo theme, which is an otherworldly upgrade no one asked for, but much welcomed and celebrated by the wide populace of the gaming community. Further inspection alludes to the finding that the frontal display of the Nubia Red Magic 3 has no noticeable notches or punch-holes. The front camera lens can hardly be seen by the naked eye, but its semi-absent presence does not undermine the fact that it is a 16 MP front camera by default, which serves more than enough as a convenient tool to capture those glorious obligatory victory selfies should the occasion call for it. Measurements dictate that the Red Magic 3 comes with a 6.65-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display for the best visuals to be brought to life from the virtual world of gaming. Most importantly of all, the AMOLED display screen alone boasts an astounding refresh rate up to 90 Hz along with a 240 Hz touch response rate. These high-performance rates further elevate the Red Magic 3 to a higher standard when it comes to gaming experience, as high frame rates can make an enormous difference in make-or-break moments in competitive modern Triple A (AAA) games. Is the game worth the candle? Honestly, I don't think so. Considering that you can buy a phone in the EU and not mess with the charger and adapters, get Google services, not clean the phone of Chinese applications and enjoy some form of Polish version, it is probably worth buying the Pro version, especially since it is not known what will happen with mobile payments. Still, if you want a phone that looks great, takes good photos, offers very high performance, fast charging, and also has a great screen and really decent speakers, then why not? I think you can try. The price of the Red Magic 9 Pro model, officially available in the EU, is EUR 650-800, depending on the selected memory. The Pro+ model, which is not officially available in the EU and must be imported from China, costs EUR 720-920, but tax must be added.

After going through each section, we didn’t find much difference between the Red Magic 9 Pro and 9 Pro Plus, except for more storage options and faster charging support with the Pro+ variant. Apart from this, the rest of the specs are identical. Overall, the Red Magic 9 Pro series phones are a good deal as a gaming-centric phone. Speaking of downsides, then the absence of gyro-EIS support on the camera and the lack of wireless charging is a bit disappointing. On the other hand, you are also getting impressive camera quality, long-lasting battery life, an interesting user interface, and a remarkable display experience as a bonus. But if you want to choose between both models, we would suggest the Red Magic 9 Pro as a complete package. Yet, you can also compare this phone with the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro in the meantime to make a decent decision according to your requirements. Anyway, the final decision is up to you, so choose accordingly.

The RedMagic 9S Pro is a powerhouse when it comes to gaming, with hardware that can handle even the most demanding tasks without breaking a sweat. Its advanced cooling system keeps things cool, while the overclocked chipset ensures smooth, lag-free performance in even the most intense gaming sessions. It's easily one of the most powerful smartphones out there right now. But it’s not just about gaming. The 9S Pro also delivers a solid all-around package, featuring a classic headphone jack, a stunning OLED display, and a big battery with fast charging to keep you in the game longer. While the RedMagic 9S Pro is a beast when it comes to gaming, it doesn’t quite shine as an all-around smartphone.

While the RedMagic 9s Pro works fantastically as a gaming phone, it suffers as a regular phone. The cameras are just bad, to the degree that they take away from the other parts of the phone and will certainly turn some people away. It's especially upsetting to see that there is still no telephoto lens on the phone, something we do see on the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro and the Galaxy S24. Meanwhile, others might be turned off by the lack of an IP rating and the threat that dust and water pose to the phone, which has been lessened massively in current smartphones. That's not to say there aren't any strengths. One of the biggest pros is tht the RedMagic 9s Pro's design just looks cool. It’s sleek but feels hardy and it's comfortable to hold for long periods.

The RedMagic 9S Pro is the fastest gaming phone money can buy. Active cooling ensures that its sustained performance is unmatched, while a suite of useful gaming features, a gigantic battery and haptic triggers serve to make the gaming experience even better. Aside from a souped-up chipset, this phone is essentially the same as its predecessor. There’s not really any reason for existing RedMagic 9 Pro users to upgrade. However, if you were thinking of picking up the last model, opting for this one basically gets you a free mid-generation speed boost. It’s not perfect; the cameras aren’t going to impress much, and that’s especially true for the selfie camera. But, if you’re not too bothered about cameras or AI party tricks, this is a great buy. With a reasonable price tag of just £579 / $649, nothing comes close to matching the price-performance ratio.

Figuring out where to land on the 9S Pro's verdict has been tricky. It's undeniable smartphone does an impressive job with handling resource-heavy games, even on their highest settings — exactly as advertised. Sure the 9S Pro does get warm, but the internal fan (which you can manually toggle) keeps it from getting too warm. And even when things do heat up the performance isn't affected. On top of which is a battery that, at least out of the box, may just rival (or even exceed) modern dedicated handheld gaming devices. The thing that makes a whole-hearted recommendation difficult is pulling back to consider not just the 9S Pro and its price starting at around $650 (for the 12GB RAM/256GB data storage version, or $800 for the 16GB/512GB version we reviewed above).

The RedMagic 9S Pro's powerful processor, ample amounts of RAM, and effective cooling technology make it an outstanding gaming phone at a compelling price. We wish it had some protection against the elements, sharper cameras, and better long-term software support, but you won't find a better gaming handset for the price. That said, if gaming isn't important to you, the Google Pixel 8 is more appealing overall thanks to its longer software support window, more advanced cameras, handy AI features, and superior durability.

The title of ‘Best gaming phone’ has arguably never been more up for grabs than it is in 2024. While Asus turned out a solid pair of smartphones with its ROG Phone 8 series, it also took several steps towards the mainstream that arguably diluted the appeal of those devices to gamers. As the only other company regularly turning out gaming phones, Nubia is best poised to take advantage of this change in priorities from the category leader. The Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro, which was released earlier this year, was something of a bargain, offering top-end performance, built-in fan cooling, and physical controls in a mid-priced package. Now the Red Magic 9S Pro is here, offering incremental improvements over the 9 Pro for the same price. We could probably just copy and paste our Red Magic 9 Pro review in at this point, and most of what we said about that phone would still be accurate.

As a pure gaming phone, the Redmagic 9S Pro is a sturdy and reliable performer. The improved cooling system does its job well, and the tweaked chipset makes short work of even the most demanding games. Add to this great battery life, decent cameras, and an ever improving OS, and the Redmagic 9S Pro is an excellent option anyone wanting to game on the go. Bear in mind, though, it is a hefty beast, and you’re unlikely to get the same length of software support as you would with the likes of Samsung, Google or Apple.

It's not only an affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 option, but it also offers great battery life, fast charging and a great set of stereo speakers. Those excellent shoulder triggers and flat, uninterrupted OLED show great attention to detail and dedication toward the gaming crowd. It is hard to overlook that the Red Magic 9S Pro is just the Red Magic 9 Pro with a chipset swap to the marginally better SM8650-AC Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While we appreciate nubia's desire to offer its users the latest and greatest chip, we wish more was addressed with this release. Particularly the fact that the phone overheats during prolonged loads. Keeping things moderately cool under load used to be the Red Magic's thing, but it's slipped a few times now.

Unboxing Nubia's Red Magic 9s Pro gaming phone, with a review of the gaming performance to see if that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version makes any difference with Genshin Impact. Gamers will adore the Red Magic 9s Pro's dependable power, although the phone does get warm under pressure. And while the battery life isn't any better in my gaming tests, this slab is solid competition for the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro. The SD 8 Gen 3 Leading Version boasts overclocked CPU and GPU action although the original 9 Pro ran Genshin Impact just as well.

Much like we concluded with the Redmagic 9 Pro, I'm finding the Redmagic 9S Pro to be a bargain. The performance is off the charts without having to spend more than a grand on a high-end device. Redmagic has always managed to put together phones that chew through games without breaking the bank, and yes, that does come with compromises to the cameras and software support. But to me, the trade is worth it; it's fun using Redmagic devices, and while the company will never measure up to the likes of Samsung and its unbeatable seven years of support, you certainly get a lot of bang for your buck if you like to play demanding games on Android. Redmagic 9S Pro isn't a perfect phone, but few, if any, are.

The RedMagic 10 Pro might not have the finesse of the competing ROG Phone 9 Pro, but it’s also a phone that’s almost half the price of Asus’ option. And, for the mid-range price, the RedMagic 10 Pro is hard to fault. It’s got it where it matters most, with a gorgeous near full-body 6.85-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen, built-in gaming triggers, Snapdragon 8 Elite performance and one of the biggest batteries you’ll find at any price point. Sure, the Red Magic OS 10 experience is pretty far from stock Android and will take some getting used to, and the built-in fan means it’s not dust- or water-resistant, but these are easier to swallow at this price point.

The Red Magic 10 Pro is a solid buy for under $1,000. It has flagship features and an awkward design but some fun gaming-like elements. Its camera is subpar, but it makes up for this with a fantastic battery and can play games flawlessly. This handset is not for everyone; however, I recommend purchasing it for anyone who likes gaming. If your primary reason for having a smartphone is to play games, then the Red Magic 10 Pro is right up your alley.

If you're in the market for a phone geared specifically for gamers and $899 is a price you're willing to shell out, the Redmagic 10 Pro will not disappoint. If you like a good boxy design with the ability to tweak the device so you can get the most power for your games, this is the phone to buy. The one thing to keep in mind is that this is a phone designed for gamers, so if gaming isn't your thing, you'll get more mileage out of a Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy phone. If gaming is your jam, the Redmagic 10 Pro is an absolute delight.

So, is the RedMagic 10 Pro worth the money? Quite honestly, this is one of the easiest recommendations I’ve ever had to make, after a ton of reviews I’ve done. RedMagic priced this handset perfectly. The entry-level model at $649 (our unit is a bit pricier) is a no-brainer, as long as you’re not a demanding camera user. This phone packs a punch in pretty much every other way. It has a gorgeous display with the thinnest bezels and the highest screen-to-body ratio in the business. Very good speakers, solid display, outstanding performance, and more. There is really not a lot to complain when it comes to RedMagic 10 Pro. Yes, the camera performance is not all that great compared to other flagships, but let’s be honest, people who are looking to buy this phone likely don’t expect the very best in that regard. The RedMagic 10 Pro does deliver in all other aspects and for this price tag… it’s an easy recommendation.

Gaming phones are where new technology usually comes to light for the first time. And this Red Magic 10 Pro with a built in 23,000rm turbo fan active cooling system is no different. With a freakin' sweet under screen camera, and a liquid metal cooling system (which we will see during the teardown) I'm excited for the smartphones of the future!

What's nice about the Redmagic 10 Pro is it isn't trying to be a jack-of-all-trades. It's a master of one: gaming. It offers incredible performance and battery life for the price. Charge separation, Gamespace, and outstanding cooling give it a unique advantage over its more expensive competition. Even that strange Mora thing is kinda neat. However, don't expect to take a lot of pictures. And remember to find a comfortable case for this phone because holding it for any length of time gets painful. Overall, this is an easy recommendation for gamers who want raw power without flagship prices. The gaming phone features a 6.85-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite SOC, and an amazing battery. 540Hz shoulder triggers and a unique liquid metal cooling system ensures peak performance during intense gaming.

Nubia was able to pull it off once again, offering a competitive gaming solution that could easily be picked up by a non-gamer as well, due to its excellent price/performance ratio. The handset also features a sleek design, exceptional battery endurance and fast charging. And even though we didn't have any issues during actual long gaming sessions, we can't miss mentioning the deterioration in cooling capabilities. This is the first Red Magic phone in a long while that failed our stress tests, even with the fan turned on. We are also a bit disappointed in the camera quality, which is the only major drawback that keeps us from calling the Red Magic an excellent all-rounder, not just a great gaming smartphone.

This is by far the most powerful smartphone I have tested in 2024 so far thanks to the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It has the phenomenal performance and cooling that gamers demand, and it comes in a unique and stylish design that has great ergonomics as well as eye-catching good looks. It’s such an easy smartphone to recommend.

There are now only two manufacturers involved in the fight to produce the best gaming phone. After Asus played its latest and greatest hand with the premium-priced ROG Phone 9 Pro, it's Nubia's turn to offer a more affordable alternative in the Red Magic 10 Pro. It may cost half the money, but the Nubia Red Magic 10 Pro runs on exactly the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip as its classy competitor, producing nigh-on identical performance. Indeed, with a built-in cooling fan, the Nubia Red Magic 10 Pro arguably gains a small leg up on the ROG, which requires an external fan to extract the very best from it. It's certainly a more stable and consistent runner than the preceding Red Magic 9S Pro. Besides the major boost in performance, the Red Magic 10 Pro adds an even larger battery to the package, which carries it to some of the best stamina we've ever seen on a phone. This thing goes for days, and it charges fairly quickly too, courtesy of a bundled-in 80W charger. There's still no wireless charging, though.

Unboxing and reviewing Nubia's REDMAGIC 10 Pro gaming smartphone, with a full test of Wuthering Waves, CoD etc to see if it's as beefy as the ROG Phone 9. It's not Red or Magic, but the REDMAGIC 10 Pro is a Snapdragon 8 Elite beast, so it's one of the best phones of 2024 for gamers. That's on top of the dense feature set, including decent haptic triggers, and upgraded battery capacity. As usual, the main draw here is that performance.

Red Magic 10 Pro+ continues the design style of its predecessor, and the higher full-transparent area can also better show the temperament of technology; the Wukong screen on the front further narrows the black edges, bringing a more immersive field of vision; Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition + Redcore R3 independent chip, the performance of the game is even better. Overall, every upgrade of the Red Magic 10 Pro+ is very eye-catching, for example, just look at this super large field of vision, no dig hole screen, can be a reason to get it. The design, performance, and battery mentioned above are all upgrades that the Red Magic 10 Pro+ perceives as noticeable, and it's really a much better choice to use it to play games than other traditional phones.
