ZTE has heralded into existence the much-anticipated Nubia Red Magic 3 with a huge bang. Not only the physical design of the smartphone alone is enough to steal the hearts of many aspiring professional gamers, it also houses high-end specifications to live up to an elite gamer’s goals and dreams. Needless to say, the flashiness in style and the exciting prospect for the Red Magic 3 of possibly being the next handheld gaming console of the generation promises much more for those who manage to get their hands on this cool and stylish device. At first glance, what certainly catches the attention of the eyes would undoubtedly be the stunning and extraordinary aesthetic of the phone. The Nubia Red Magic 3, living true to the precedence and reputation of its title as a gaming smartphone, boldly dons the color red with much fierceness and pride, thus honoring a striking but distinguished resemblance of those of its earlier Red Magic predecessors. An RGB LED stripe embellishes the center of the rear exterior of the phone as a welcomed highlight for a finishing touch. To top that off, akin to other gaming devices in the scene – be it in all sizes, shapes, and forms – the aforementioned RGD LED stripe is indeed, fully customizable by users to their liking. Should the bold red color has somehow, yet to capture or elude its audience’s heart in one manner or another, the Nubia Red Magic 3 now comes with a limited edition Camo theme, which is an otherworldly upgrade no one asked for, but much welcomed and celebrated by the wide populace of the gaming community. Further inspection alludes to the finding that the frontal display of the Nubia Red Magic 3 has no noticeable notches or punch-holes. The front camera lens can hardly be seen by the naked eye, but its semi-absent presence does not undermine the fact that it is a 16 MP front camera by default, which serves more than enough as a convenient tool to capture those glorious obligatory victory selfies should the occasion call for it. Measurements dictate that the Red Magic 3 comes with a 6.65-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display for the best visuals to be brought to life from the virtual world of gaming. Most importantly of all, the AMOLED display screen alone boasts an astounding refresh rate up to 90 Hz along with a 240 Hz touch response rate. These high-performance rates further elevate the Red Magic 3 to a higher standard when it comes to gaming experience, as high frame rates can make an enormous difference in make-or-break moments in competitive modern Triple A (AAA) games. Qualcomm Adreno 640: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is intergrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 20% faster than the Adreno 630 in the Snapdragon 845 SoC and offers 50% more compute units (ALUs).

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Qualcomm Adreno 740: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 730 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and first benchmarks show that the GPU can beat the Apple A16 iGPU (previously the fastest smartphone GPU). 

Qualcomm Adreno 750: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 7340 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and first benchmarks show that the GPU can beat the Apple A17 Pro iGPU.

SD 855: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in late 2018 and manufactured in 7 nm at TSMC. Integrates one “Prime Core” based on a modified ARM Cortex-A76 architecture clocked at up to 2.84 GHz. Three more performance cores are also based on the A76 but clock up to 2.42 GHz. Furthermore, four energy saving cores are integrated that are based on the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture and clock at up to 1.8 GHz. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a X24 LTE modem (up to 2 Gigbit download), a new Wi-Fi modem (Wi-Fi 6 ready, 60 GHz mmWave), Hexagon 690 DSP with new Tensor cores for AI processing, a Spectra 380 ISP with an integrated computer vision engine and an integrated LPDDR4x memory controller.
