The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus still features the same distinctive design with the company's Glyph Interface on the back, but now comes in two new, more metallic, colorways. Other improvements include a new chipset, a higher-res front camera, and slightly faster wired charging (50 W vs. 45 W).

Nothing just announced the Phone (2a) Plus, less than five months since the release of the vanilla model. In this case, the Plus moniker doesn't indicate a larger form factor, but rather a refresh with slightly bumped specs and some new colorways.

The biggest upgrade comes in the form of a faster SoC, as the handset is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7350 Pro. It features the same silicon as its predecessor but with higher clock speeds, resulting in a 10% improvement in CPU performance and a 30% speedier GPU. This gets paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.

Moving on to the camera system, there's still a dual camera system on the back, consisting of a 50-megapixel main shooter with OIS as well as a 50-megapixel ultrawide. However, the selfie camera now makes use of a 50-megapixel sensor that can record 4K video.

On the software side, you're getting Nothing OS 2.6 powered by Android 14, with the company promising 3 years of Android updates along with 4 years of security patches.

The 5,000 mAh battery can now charge at up to 50 W, shaving 3 minutes off a full charge, although wireless charging support is still absent. Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IP54 rating.

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will start shipping in August, with pricing set at $399/£399. However, buyers who live in the US will still have to go through Nothing's Beta Program and deal with some 4G/5G band limitations.
