Reviews for the Nokia Lumia 1320

A fresh phablet. Pursuing the Lumia 1520, Nokia sends another 6-inch phablet featuring HD resolution and Windows Phone 8 into the race, called the Lumia 1320. Its power and configuration are no match for the premium model, but it is nevertheless a strong smartphone.
A budget phablet, what a curious thing: Reg puts claws to the Lumia 1320

Ultimately, I just couldn't work out where to stick the Lumia 1320. (Readers will no doubt tell me where). Encasing it in a book-style flip case just seemed to make it even more gargantuan. I could leave it in a reporter's bag (leather, John Lewis - heavier than anything that ever goes in it) - but I prefer not to, I miss too many calls and I would rather have something so basic within easier reach.

The Nokia Lumia 1320 is a great mid-range Windows phablet. While the camera's by far its weakest point, it's a superb alternative to the considerably more expensive Lumia 1520 and we greatly prefer it to other Android phablets such as the HTC One Max and Samsung Galaxy Mega. If you're not fussed about taking pictures then the 1320's great screen and excellent battery life is just the thing for surfing the web and watching films and TV on the move, all without breaking the bank.

For AED 1299, the Nokia Lumia 1320 delivers big screen functionality at a decent price. It may not perform as well as the 1520, but keep in mind that you’re paying about half the price. Plus Nokia knows how utilize the hardware making it seem like its performance is at par with its more premium cousins. Windows Phone users looking for a bigger phone screen on a budget should definitely get the Nokia Lumia 1320.

If you like a big phone, but don't want to spend too much money, this is a highly attractive handset. Screen resolution is not tip top, but more than adequate and the Nokia benefits of easy readability in bright sunshine or being usable through gloves means the phone is good to use in summer and winter. Nokia's usual app extras that handle mapping and music are as impressive as ever, and the camera effects are neat and enjoyable. The camera may only be 5MP resolution, but it takes good photos. The Windows Phone app store is still much weaker than Apple and Android rivals, but it's catching up fast in terms of key titles. Still, if you have a particular favourite it's worth checking if it or something similar is available.

60% Nokia Lumia 1320 review A capable phablet, but is it already obsolete?
Source: Techradar English Archive.org version
The Nokia Lumia 1320 is positioned as budget alternative to the all-powerful Nokia Lumia 1520, but there's a problem. The Nokia Lumia 1520 has dropped in price significantly, making the 1320 seem surplus to requirements. Comparisons aside, it's an extremely hefty phone that lacks Nokia's usual design flair, with a workmanlike plastic construction that's prone to creaking. This middle-of-the road feeling continues with its underwhelming processor, average camera, and lack of any stand-out software that really marks the Lumia 1320 out as unique.

Nokia’s Lumia 1320 is an all-round decent smartphone, especially when its sub-£300 price tag is taken into consideration. But we found it difficult to get too excited about the handset. While affordable, the handset’s low-resolution screen and average camera means users are unlikely to opt for the Lumia 1320 when they can buy a Nexus 5, for example, with top-end specs for the same low price and many more applications on offer. However, for businesses in the Microsoft eco-system, this could be a valid option for a low-cost smartphone.

If you're a fan of Windows Phone and want a large screen, you have a choice between the Lumia 1320 and the more compelling 1520 which costs twice as much. If you're primarily a fan of Windows Phone, the 1320 is the best bet in its price range, but you could also consider the more pocketable Lumia 925, which has a far better camera and costs roughly Rs. 6,000 more. However, this phone doesn't compare too favourably to its Android-based competition, most notably the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, which costs almost exactly the same amount. The Grand 2 benefits from the strength of the Google Play app store, and Nokia can't balance that out with its camera expertise at this price level, like it did with the Lumia 1520.

The Nokia Lumia 1320’s the best value big-screened Windows Phone around, no question - and unless you really need a top notch camera, it’s better value for money than the 1520 too. But it’s not the best best value smartphone around, not when Google’s 4G-infused Nexus 5 goes for the same amount on contract, packs a sharper screen and many, many more apps. So long as Nokia’s Lumia line sticks to Windows Phone, that’s sadly always going to be the case - fingers crossed that might change quite soon.

60% Nokia Lumia 1320 review: Amazing battery life but heavily overpriced
Source: Tech2.in.com English Archive.org version
At a retail price of Rs 24,000, the Lumia 1320 is simply too expensive to consider. The highlight feature is of course the battery life and the fact that you can now install pretty much any app without a problem. But apart from this, there’s little else going in its favour to warrant such a hefty premium when compared to phones like the Lumia 625 and Lumia 720. We would still love to see a ‘Lumia 725′ with 1GB RAM, which will undoubtedly be a much better buy than the 625 and 1320 put together. To sum up, the Lumia 1320 would make a good smartphone at Rs 16,000, if you’re into ‘phablets’.

In the end, while size matters, it's also what you do with it that really counts, and we're not sure Windows Phone yet does enough to warrant phablet-scale for every user. Although some groups will find enough to love about the Lumia 1320's screen, Microsoft needs to do a little more to refine its OS to deliver on its half of the bargain. That will undoubtedly come in time, but for now we'd be more tempted by one of Nokia's smaller Lumia devices, particularly those with PureView cameras.

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

Nokia: Nokia is a Finnish company founded in 1865 and headquartered in Finland. The company is known for its telecommunications equipment and cell phones. Nokia was one of the leading manufacturers of cell phones in the 1990s and has expanded its business into networking and technology solutions in recent years.

In 2011, Nokia partnered with Microsoft on Windows-based cell phones and sold the entire cell phone division to Microsoft in 2014, which limited the Nokia brand name to basic cell phones. In 2016, Finnish electronics manufacturer HMD Global entered into a licensing agreement with Nokia, bought the remaining Nokia name rights from Microsoft Mobile, and since 2017 has exclusively offered Nokia cell phones worldwide, which are based on Android, among other things, and are produced by Foxconn.

73.27%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
