On its way to the promised Android O update, this affordable 5-inch Nokia smartphone is scheduled to receive the next minor Nougat refresh in the coming month.
Although the Nokia 3 is a low-cost smartphone with a MediaTek MT6737 processor and 2 GB memory on board, HMD Global promised it would get Android O once the update becomes available. In the meantime, this 5-inch handset is also scheduled to get Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
HDM Global's Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, has recently posted the following message on Twitter: "Got a few questions on this so wanted to confirm that #Nokia3 will receive 7.1.1 update by end of August." In another message, he also added that Nokia 3 users across the entire world would get the update at the same time.
Android 8.0 should hit the market this fall, so the Nokia 3 will probably get that update not long after Android 7.1.1. Unfortunately, there are no specific launch dates to talk about yet, but we will get back to this topic as soon as these details surface online.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
