Nokia's new smartphones may have been unveiled a while ago, but they are nowhere to be found at this time, except China. However, the new Nokia 3, 5, and 6 are expected to become available globally this summer, and all these three handsets are ready to receive Android O.
An exclusive report by TechRadar confirms that Google's next major Android version would reach the new Nokia smartphones mentioned earlier. The same source quotes a spokesperson from HMD Global saying that "the smartphones will get the Android O update once the new release is available from Google for their OEM partners, the same way HMD Global is committed to the monthly Android security updates."
Android O should arrive in September or October, but HMD Global cannot give an accurate date for the update. When major Android versions surface for Nexus/Pixel devices, it takes at least a few weeks until Google's OEM partners begin to roll out the new firmware as well.
