New leak suggests that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will come with a secondary screen next to its rear camera housing
Despite doing several rounds of the rumour mill over the past few months, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro still does not have an official launch date. Originally slated for an early February release, the smartphone is now expected to arrive sometime in Q2 2021. A new report prophesizes that the Mi 11 Pro ship with a secondary screen next to the rear camera housing, much like its sibling, the Mi 11 Ultra. Huawei is planning to go down that road too, apparently.
ITHome cites 'Digital Bloggers' as the source of its information, although it neglects to mention any names. An alleged Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro's camera housing image shows it to be wider than usual, presumably to accommodate the extra screen. It looks quite similar to the Mi 11 Ultra's camera housing and second screen layout that we talked about some time ago. Refer to the attached image for a side-by-side look at both images.
As always, we should treat this information with some scepticism. We have seen several Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro 'live images' and renders in the past, each showing the device in a new light. The obnoxiously large camera modules will be necessary to house its supposed 200MP camera module and the hybrid periscope lens that is touted to offer 50X zoom
