New free-to-try PS5/Xbox/PC game already earning strong praise from users

Elta: Defy All Gods is giving PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC players a free opportunity to try an upcoming science-fantasy action-platformer before its full release. Developed by Afterburner Studios and published by Focus Entertainment, the game is scheduled to launch on February 2, 2027, with its newly released demo offering a preview of the adventure. Early coverage has highlighted its distinctive visual style and promising combat, putting the upcoming indie release on the radar of action-game fans.
Players control Victus, an exiled warrior monk searching for the lost god Elta on a hostile planet. The gameplay combines platforming, exploration and fast-paced melee combat, with three martial arts stances that players can switch between during battles. Building energy through combat unlocks magical attacks, while traversal abilities such as double jumps and air dashes help players navigate varied environments, including icy cliffs, desert canyons and ruined temples.
The approximately 45-to-60-minute demo covers the prologue and culminates in a boss encounter. On the PS5 store, the demo appears to have already made a positive impression overall, with a rating of 4.39 out of 5 stars so far. However, the demo's progress will not carry over to the full release, meaning players will need to repeat the opening when the game launches. The complete game is priced at $29.99, making the free trial a useful way to assess its appeal before purchasing.
