New Steam twin-stick roguelike shooting game lets you weaponize the environment - now out of Early Access

Galactic Glitch isn’t just another new basic indie roguelike on Steam - it lets you rip apart enemies by flinging their own rockets back at them. Armed with a gravity gun and set in a glitched-out cosmic sim, this twin-stick shooter has just hit its full 1.0 release after nearly a year in early access.
Speaking of early access, the game first made an appearance in July 2024. Developed by Crunchy Leaf Games, Galactic Glitch takes a physics-driven approach to combat - letting you grab asteroids, catch missiles, and toss enemies into each other.
The 1.0 version includes several upgrades over the early access build, including new levels like the Quarantine Zone, a new arena called the Cybervoid, and a total of 90+ unlockable powers. You can also discover prototype ships as part of your runs, each of which add their own twist on gameplay strategy. A map system has also been added to help players navigate the increasingly complex universe.
The Steam page describes it as a "2D Space-Roguelite" where each run plays out differently, thanks to procedural upgrades, dynamic enemy parts, and the ability to manipulate nearly everything in the environment. Think Gungeon meets Dead Cells with a dash of Bubble Tanks - an old flash game that reviewers say this one spiritually revives.
Players have responded pretty well: Galactic Glitch currently holds an 84% user score (Very Positive) based on 250+ reviews - most of which are from the early access phase. Key areas where the game has received praise are the upgrade system, satisfying physics mechanics, and surprising difficulty scaling. One Steam user described it as "what Gungeon would feel like if it had gravity and felt... gooey."
It’s small in size - under 1GB of storage - and runs on fairly modest specs (8 GB RAM, GTX 920 or better). There’s no co-op mode yet, but the single-player experience is tuned tightly around momentum and chaos, with some players already pulling off wild skillshot builds using enemy projectiles as ammo.
For roguelike fans, this might be one of the more creative launches to come out of Steam’s indie section this summer. The game is available now on Steam at an introductory price of $9.74 (35% off) through June 17. This matches its lowest price ever recorded, according to SteamDB.
