New Galaxy S26 series leak suggests Samsung may have skipped built-in Qi2 magnets

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026, and so far, many key details of the upcoming flagship phones have been revealed through leaks. One of the recent leaks gave a closer look at the official accessories that the company will offer alongside the phones, and this one is pointing at a disappointing piece of news.
For reference, given that Google introduced Pixel Snap with its latest flagship phone series, many expected Samsung to integrate Qi2 magnets into its upcoming Galaxy S26 series phones. This would make Samsung's soon-to-launch phones offer the same wireless charging convenience as the modern Apple iPhone models.
However, a leak from Dutch site Nieuwemobiel hints that the Galaxy S26 series may not ship with native Qi2 magnets. This leak shows a couple of clear cases, with some being magnetic and some non-magnetic, suggesting that magnetic charging will be a choice for the end users, not a built-in feature.
If magnets were indeed built into the phones, all the official clear cases would be magnetic. Of course, this doesn't completely rule out the chances of the Galaxy S26 series coming with built-in Qi2 magnetic charging support. Previous leaks showcased magnetic power banks and a MagSafe-style 25W wireless charger that Samsung is reportedly working on.
These leaked magnetic accessories wouldn't make sense if they required an extra magnetic case to work. But then again, the alleged spec sheet for the Galaxy S26 phones points out that the upcoming phones will come with Wireless Power Share, Samsung's reverse wireless charging feature.
In devices with built-in magnetic arrays, reverse wireless charging is often dropped as it typically conflicts with the internal magnets. Google, for example, removed the feature on the Pixel 10 series (128GB Pixel 10 curr. $649 on Amazon), which has native magnetic wireless charging support. So, at the current stage, it wouldn't be surprising not to see built-in magnets in the Galaxy S26 series phones.
