Verizon Wireless has officially revealed the launch date of the Motorola Droid Turbo handset. This Android KitKat smartphone will hit the market in about 12 days and 16 hours, on October 28. A few official images were already posted online by Verizon, apparently by accident. Now, Droid Life has just revealed the full specs of the handset.

Motorola Droid Turbo will hit Verizon Wireless with the following specs and features:

  • Processor: 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805
  • Memory/Storage: 3 GB RAM; 32 GB internal storage
  • Display: 5.2-inch QHD touchscreen with 2,560X1,440 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • Back Camera: 21 MP with dual LED flash, 4K video capture-capable
  • Connectivity: 4G LTE and XLTE, VoLTE and Advanced Calling 1.0 to be available within one to three months of launch
  • Operating system: Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Battery/Autonomy: 3,900 mAh, Turbo Charger; two days of mixed use

Next to the Moto X features like Moto Assist, the Droid Turbo will get an exclusive Zap software suite which allows to quickly share pictures, create instant slideshows using Chromecast, or to capture screenshots by simply saying "OK, Droid Turbo, Zap my screen."

Pricing is still unknown, but since Verizon sells the Moto X for $99 USD on-contract, the Droid Turbo may be introduced for around $200 USD.
