When Motorola first announced their Moto 360 smartwatch in March, they did a very good job of revealing little info about the device's availability and pricing. That lack of info could be changing however, and the Moto 360 Design Face-Off could shed some light on what the watch will eventually retail for.
The company is holding an event to design the watchface for the Moto 360, with entries being accepted through Google+ till the 10th of June. The official rules for the contest were released today, and in them the grand prize was listed as a Moto 360 smartwatch with an average retail value of $249.
Of course, in the very next sentence Motorola makes it clear that the actual retail price at launch could be substantially different, but this definitely offers an idea of what the Moto 360 could cost. The contest voting for the top-10 entries is also set to close by the 24th of June, and the smartwatch could definitely debut soon after.
