The 'tap to park' feature that Elon Musk teased a few months back is now live for the Model Y without parking sensors. New Autopark feature test shows how the Vision-only option performs in bad weather.

Tesla is rolling out the Full Self-Driving Beta 12.1 version, with those on the new 2024.2.12 update getting Vision-only Autopark, as well as the new Driving Visualization.

That's the first time that the Tesla Model Y that doesn't have ultrasonic parking sensors (USS) is getting the Autopark functionality, and there are already demonstration videos out there.

Elon Musk teased the "tap to park" option back when FSD V12 was still to be released, and now its vehicles that only rely on the Tesla Vision camera suite for parking duties, are getting Autopark.

Tesla removed USS from its cars to save about $114 a pop, and took its sweet time with the Vision-only Autopark option, frustrating many owners in the process. Since then, it has been gradually rolling out options that rely on end-to-end AI to compensate for the loss of parking sensors, such as the new High Fidelity Park Assist feature.

The Vision-only Autopark that now comes with the 2024.2.12 update will eventually make it to USS-laden Teslas as well.

As can be seen from the test video in the snow below, however, Autopark works really well on the Model Y even without parking sensors.
