Microsoft's Wordament finds its way to iOS

Teaser
Popular word game goes cross-platform and brings XBox Live with it

While the Windows Phone store isn't widely known for its exclusive titles, Wordament has always stood out among the rest. The popular word game, which is based on Boggle, was independently produced before being bought out by Microsoft and branded with XBox Live achievements.

Now the application has made the leap towards the iOS stratosphere and can be downloaded for iPhone through the App Store. While Apple fans will definitely rejoice in adding a quality game, Wordament is also significant as it marks the first iOS game directly tied to Xbox Live. Leaderboards and achievements are kept track of using an XBox Live account and Apple's Game Center is nowhere to be seen.

The app itself is identical to the Windows version (with the small caveat of including ads)  and users compete in the same puzzles across platforms. In any case, we'll have to see whether this ushers in a flurry of XBox Live apps for iOS, but for now we're happy to stick with Wordament.
