Microsoft Office 2024 launches without a subscription, with a fresh design and new features
Although Microsoft's marketing continues to push Office 365, which is sold exclusively via a subscription, the company continues to offer an Office version for customers who do not wish to take out a subscription. Microsoft began selling Office 2024 on October 1. Buyers can choose between two packages.
Office Home 2024 costs $149.99 and includes a license for one end device, either for Windows or for macOS. The Home version includes the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Alternatively, Microsoft also offers Office Home & Business 2024 for $249.99, which includes everything in Office Home plus Outlook 2024. Among other things, Microsoft advertises better performance, especially in large Excel files, as well as a fresh design with a revised menu bar.
