Meizu Roadmap for 2017 was leaked: Mostly MediaTek-SOCs in sight
Someone at Meizu apparently saved some papers from the shredder and leaked them online, revealing the alleged roadmap of future Meizu smartphones scheduled to launch in 2017. As you can see from the image below, Meizu will stay true to MediaTek as a sole supplier of chipsets up until the end of the year, when apparently one phone is scheduled to launch with a Qualcomm SOC. No phone with Samsung's Exynos chipset is currently on the roadmap, so last year's launch of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus with Exynos 8890 processor seems to have been a singular event.
The first phone on Meizu's launch list is the entry level M5S, which already leaked a couple of days ago. It will come with a MediaTek MT6753 chip. The next phone will be the flagship Meizu Pro 7 in June of 2017. This one will come with the high-end Helio X30 processor inside. July will bring the Meizu S, a phone that will feature a P25 processor, followed by the September launch of the MX7 with an as of yet unannounced MediaTek P30 chipset.
The last phone with a MediaTek chipset this year will be the successor to the recently released M5 Note in October of 2017. It will be based upon the P20 processor from MediaTek. Then, almost a year from now we can expect Meizu to release a phone with a Qualcomm chipset inside. It might be the Snapdragon 626 processor, judging from the characters on the leaked image. Bear in mind, that Meizu's plans might change or that the roadmap was outdated when it was put into the shredder, so take the information with a grain of salt.
