Malware and viruses will increasingly target smartphone users in the coming years, making it all the more important that companies find ways to protect users from harmful software. Or at the very least, offer them peace of mind. McAfee is now extending their partnership with Samsung so that their security software can come preinstalled on Samsung devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung PCs, and Samsung smart TVs.
John Giamatteo, executive vice president of McAfee’s consumer business group, said that the partnership would help consumers defend against malicious attacks in an increasingly interconnected world.
“Protecting every connected device in your home is absolutely essential today. That’s because if one device is attacked, it puts your entire home network at risk. While that level of protection might sound like a lot of effort, McAfee makes sure that it’s easy. We believe there is power in working with partners like Samsung to build world-class security into devices like smart TVs, PCs, and smartphones so that these devices are protected right out of the box,” Giamatteo said.
This McAfee software isn’t free. Instead, users will get a 60-day free trial and receive the opportunity to continue their subscription through a special offer.
