This laptop feels like it's designed with creators in mind. The screen is large and robust, with a good colour range and decent brightness. It has a tonne of ports, meaning you can plug multiple devices into it, which would be ideal for people looking for a laptop to act as a music production hub, a recording studio, or some combination of the two.

The MSI Prestige 15 delivers good performance, has a great keyboard and lots of connectivity, all wrapped up in a stylish design and offered at a competitive price. But if you look elsewhere you’ll easily find laptops with better displays, more robust build and even better performance.

Anyone who uses a laptop for work is likely to prioritise battery life and keyboard quality and on both counts the Prestige 15 delivers in spades. It is good value considering the specification; the 40W TGP limit on the GPU is unlikely to cause any problems unless you really want to do some surreptitious gaming on the company hardware. MSI deserves plaudits for equipping its Prestige-line machines with a comprehensive selection of ports but we would have liked to see at least 16GB of RAM at the entry level and an improved quality webcam to better suit this new era of hybrid working. However, the MSI Prestige 15 is a great-value business workhorse.

If you're after a lightweight full-size-screen laptop capable of solid everyday performance and good runtimes, plus the ability to handle demanding work/school loads and casual games from time to time, the 2022 generation of the MSI Prestige 15 is an option to consider. I'd especially look at the affordable i5+3050 configurations for that. At the same time, the design does show its age here and there, and the limited thermal performance or the mid-quality IPS screen should be considered as well in your decision.

You know, the latest technology from Intel and NVIDIA has definitely helped the Prestige 15 (A12Ux) in its quest to be one of the best business-productivity laptops on the market. Ultimately, the so-called Alder Lake-P Core i7-1280P is roughly the same as the Core i5-12500H in terms of performance. In addition to that, you get pretty comfortable input devices, and some biometric login options that do their job as intended. This includes an IR face recognition scanner, and a fingerprint reader, placed inside the touchpad area. Unfortunately, this means a small portion of the touchpad is unresponsive. MSI Prestige 15 (A12Ux)’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t flicker at any brightness level, which makes it safe in this aspect. Furthermore, the 96% sRGB coverage results in a vibrant image, while our Gaming and Web design profile will help you get the most out of the panel in terms of color accuracy. Of course, we have to talk about some downsides. One of them is the lack of memory expansion.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB Laptop GPU: Mid-range gaming laptop graphics card based on the Ampere GA107 chip. Offers 2048 shaders and is offered in different TGP (power consumption) variants from 35 to 80 Watt with different clock speeds and therefore performance. Older variant with 4GB VRAM.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.
