MSI PL62 7RC-051XES
Whether you are a casual gamer or a user simply looking for notebook with reasonable specification without breaking the bank, MSI may have you covered with their P series line up and more specifically the PL62 7RC-051XES, which sports an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and last but not least the new Nvidia Geforce MX150, which was designed as the Geforce 940MX replacement. On the exterior the MSI PL62 7RC-051XES has a brushed finish which sadly is not aluminium but a mix of plastics and metal. The overall chassis flex is minimal and so is keyboard flex unless you press really hard. In terms of IO the MSI PL62 7RC-051XES is moderately equipped with 1 USB 2.0, 3 USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 ports with no thunderbolt support unfortunately or even Type C for that matter, 1 HDMI port, and 1 Displayport. One surprising thing of this notebook is that most of its spec are a little low although it is a mid-range model. However, userscan actually add another RAM module or even an NVMe based M.2 storage should they wish to upgrade later. The included Geforce MX150 may not be a GTX 1050 or even its bigger brethren, but it is actually quite decent considering that it is almost equivalent or better than the previous generation Geforce 950M. Thanks to lower power consumption than its predecessor, the MSI PL62 7RC-051XES might be an ideal ultra-portable or even multimedia device. Overall the GPU was able to run current titles smoothly on medium settings, which should satisfy undemanding gamers. The MSI PL62 7RC-051XES comes with a FHD IPS panel, which has good viewing angles but somewhat lacks brightness. However, for an IPS based panel it is still reasonably bright when used under optimal conditions. With its high contrast and deep blacks there really is not much to complain about. One thing media content creators should be aware of is that this panel scores about 94 % of the NTSC color pace, which is good. The SteelSeries keyboard means comfortable typing. The touchpad is somewhat rough, but it does not take away from the finger gliding over it. Moreover, it is not one of those integrated touchpads and clickpads; bonus points for having dedicated buttons. The MSI PL62 7RC-051XES features four 2-Watt speakers optimized by Nahimic, which offer a high level of volume although bass is practically non-existent. While the included GPU is not as power hungry as its larger brethren, the MSI PL62 7RC-051XES has an abysmal battery life of 3 hours even during light usage. Due to its battery life it seems like users may have to contend with it. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Saved on the display. While MSI is mainly known for its gaming notebooks, it also offers very affordable entry-level and multimedia notebooks. The MSI PL62 has to prove in our test that an affordable price does not automatically mean a low performance.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

79.95%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
