Limited-edition McDonald's Fry Mark mouse is made from recycled Happy Meals

There are few designs recognized by more people worldwide than McDonald's red french fries box. The company has now teamed up with Lenovo to develop an affordable wireless mouse featuring this very design. But it is not just the look that makes it special, but also the materials it is made from.
More than 60 percent of the plastic housing is made from old Happy Meal toys that have been melted down and recycled to make this mouse. Likely due in no small part to the limited availability of this material, the mouse is limited to just 4,000 units worldwide. The recycled plastic is intended to make the mouse comparatively eco-friendly. To reduce its environmental impact, McDonald's ships the Fry Mark in entirely plastic-free cardboard packaging and includes a multifunctional fabric carrying bag.
This bag can be unfolded and used as a mouse pad. The mouse can be connected to a computer via Bluetooth, a 2.4 GHz USB dongle or a USB cable. However, McDonald's provides hardly any details about the remaining specifications, such as the battery life offered by the integrated 380 mAh battery or which sensor is used – the company merely states that the sensitivity can be adjusted in three levels.
Pricing and availability
The McDonald's Fry Mark mouse was offered exclusively by McDonald's China for ¥99 ($15) plus 18 McDonald's Member Points. The mouse was limited to 4,000 units and sold out shortly after its launch on October 22.
