Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 teased in promo video; coming on May 17th

Teaser video by Lenovo details ThinkPad X1's features and reveals a release date

Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 has already found its way onto an Amazon pre-order page, but the company has yet to officially announce the notebook. However, that doesn't seem to be stopping Lenovo from hyping their laptop, as the company has released a new teaser video showing off some of the goodies under (and over) the hood.

The 1-minute promo revolves around a fictional couple known as Jen and Steven, and serves to introduce Lenovo’s “Perfect Marriage of Form and Function”. In the video, the X1 is put to the test as Jen drops water on the keyboard, attempts to scratch off the screen, and unceremoniously flings drops the notebook on the floor.

Of course, the ThinkPad X1 is able to easily survive thanks to its water-shedding keyboard, Corning Gorilla Glass display and Military Grade toughness. Furthermore, the laptop manages to endure the dark on account of a backlit keyboard that Lenovo’s managed to squeeze in.

Though the video’s acting may be excruciatingly painful to watch, it does reveal a much wanted piece of info. Those interested in nabbing a ThinkPad X1 should check back on the 17th of May when the laptop will finally be available. In addition, Lenovo‘s video includes a very important lesson- if you don’t have an X1 capable of taking a beating, then you’d best let your partner in on whatever you’re doing on your notebook.
