Lenovo launches affordable dual-mode Mini LED gaming monitor with up to 400Hz refresh rate

Lenovo has launched a new dual-mode gaming monitor in China, the Bellator 27UZ. It features a 27-inch Mini LED display and can operate in two modes. One of them keeps the resolution native, at 3,840x2,160 pixels, with the refresh rate staying at 180Hz without overclocking.
With overclocking, the refresh rate can reach 200Hz at 4K resolution. As for the mode, it switches the resolution to FHD, and without any overclocking, the refresh rate bumps up to 360Hz. However, in the overclocked state, the monitor can reach a whopping 400Hz refresh rate at the 1080p resolution.
Beyond the dual-mode nature of the monitor, the Mini LED panel is a big highlight of the Bellator 27UZ. Lenovo claims that this 27-inch display has a total of 1,152 dimming zones and, with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, the monitor aims to offer an enhanced HDR experience.
There’s support for FreeSync, G-Sync, and Adaptive Sync, and thanks to these, there should be minimal tearing and stuttering while gaming. The port configuration is pretty decent as well, and while it’s great to see a USB-C port with PD, the Type-C port offers up to 65W of power (Baseus 100W 3.3-feet retractable cable curr. $12.99 on Amazon), which isn’t enough for performance gaming laptops.
Regardless, the port selection also includes two HDMI 2.1 FRL, one USB-B 3.2 Gen 1, one DisplayPort 1.4, and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. Other highlights include 99% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3 color coverage ratings, a sleek design, and an adjustable stand.
In China, this Lenovo Mini LED gaming monitor has a launch price of CNY 2,199, around $330, making it quite affordable for the specs. It’s unclear whether the Bellator 27UZ will launch globally, but it’s worth noting that Bellator-branded products don’t usually get wide international releases.
