Lenovo Zuk Z1 renders reveal USB Type-C port
The official render shows off the reversible USB port and even the final packaging.

A single rendering of the upcoming Lenovo smartphone was revealed through Chinese social networks alongside images of the final packaging. The Chinese manufacturer is expected to reveal more about its first Zuk smartphone brand early next month.

We touched upon some details on the Zuk device in a previous posting, but the render this week confirms a USB Type-C port. In contrast to the current Micro-USB 2.0 ports, USB Type-C ports and cables are all reversible. The high-end OnePlus 2, for example, will ship with a USB Type-C port later this year.

The Zuk brand was revealed on May 28 at the Lenovo Tech World event. The Lenovo subsidiary was created to better compete with Xiaomi, Huawei, and other rising Chinese smartphone manufacturers. The current president and CEO of Zuk is Chang Cheng, while Chen Xudong remains as co-chairman and head of Lenovo Mobile Business Group (MBG).
