Lenovo ThinkPad P71-20HK0004GE
Lenovo has released its new mobile ThinkPad P71 workstation. The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is all set for connecting up your choice of virtual reality headset and enjoying the very best in immersive 3D graphics. It is also the ideal machine for computing professionals, such as designers and developers, and it is one of the best portable gaming PCs out this year. The laptop has Oculus, HTC, and Nvidia certifications, and it's powered by Intel's Xeon E3-v6 processors for mobile, while its GPU options max out at Nvidia's Quadro 5000. The Intel Xeon E3-v6 processor is a great CPU that has the kick of a desktop in a convenient portable size, and it delivers the power needed to handle the 4K display and the VR-ready engine. Lenovo obviously knows how important storage is to a good laptop. Not only it has a staggering 2 TB right there on the internal drive, but there is an optional upgrade as well. Stick with old school media and choose the disk drive version, or have it swapped out for a further 1 TB SSD in the disk bay. The laptop is capable of an impressive 3840 x 2160 pixel output for viewing UHD content at its full potential. This is achieved by taking advantage of in-plane switching and give the NVIDIA Quadro graphics a boost. The card also works well with a connected virtual reality headset or device, producing a high and consistent frame rate and a cool 4K display. The ThinkPad P71 features Lenovo’s award-winning keyboard, which is made better with a redesigned Touchpad. Full-sized and spill-resistant, the legendary ThinkPad ergonomic keyboard is renowned for its full array of keys, excellent feel, and TrackPoint pointing device. As for sound output, the laptop has Dolby Home Theater that maximizes volume output of the built-in stereo speakers without distortion. The user can enjoy a crisp, clear, immersive surround sound experience with all the power and nuance of the cinema, and all the immediacy of live performance. The 17-inch laptop weighs in at a hefty 7.6 lb (3.4 kg), coming with 64 GB RAM and four storage devices with up to 1 TB of SSD storage. It also features a 4K UHD display with the option to switch to an FHD touch display and dual-fan cooling. Operating system options consist of Windows 10, Ubuntu Linux, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. For true mobility, a user can configure the laptop with WWAN connectivity, so the user can access 3G or 4G networks provided by a third-party cellular phone service company. It provides a range of connectivity options, including four USB 3.0 ports, dual Intel Thunderbolt 3 ports to help move big files, a docking connector, and smartcard reader. Quiet and powerful. The ThinkPad P71 is Lenovo's biggest and most powerful mobile workstation. It is a powerful machine, but still pleasantly quiet in many situations. You also get a very good 4K UHD panel.

Most of the portable PCs that I review are general purpose devices. You know the deal, they're ultrabooks that have U-series processors, integrated graphics, maybe a 360-degree hinge, and so on. The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is not a general purpose PC.

The $4,643 ThinkPad P71 gives big-budget professionals a fantastic screen for their work, a comfortable keyboard for producing their projects and tons of horsepower. We just wish the SSD were a bit faster, especially at this price.

Lenovo: Lenovo ( "Le" as in the English word legend and "novo" (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. From 2004, the company has been the largest laptop manufacturer in China and got the fourth largest manufacturer worldwide after the acquisition of IBM's PC division in 2005. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company also produces monitors, projectors, servers, etc.
In 2011, Lenovo acquired the majority of Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Lenovo took over Motorola Mobility, which gave them a boost in the smartphone market.
From 2014 to 2016 Lenovo's market share in the global notebook market was 20-21%, ranking second behind HP. However, the distance decreased gradually. In the smartphone market, Lenovo did not belong to the Top 5 global manufacturers in 2016.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.
