The new Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 8 sports a modern but simple gray chassis, which is equipped with a backlit keyboard and a pretty large trackpad. The laptop is powered an Intel Core 5 Ultra 210H, which is a Raptor Lake processor that is a few generations older than the latest Arrow Lake architecture.
Thanks to four performance cores with boost clock speeds of up to 4.8 GHz and four efficiency cores, the chip offers passable CPU performance, but falls behind the current Core Ultra 200H processors in terms of GPU performance and efficiency. The new 14-inch Lenovo laptop is also available with an Intel Core 7 Ultra 240H, but all model variants come with 16GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Depending on the SKU, the notebook houses a 45Wh or 60Wh battery.
Meanwhile, the 14-inch IPS panel has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, brightness of 300 nits and refresh rate of 60Hz. Only 45% of the NTSC color space are covered, which means that the ThinkBook 14 Gen 8 is not suitable for use cases that require precise color reproduction. Nonetheless, the port selection is relatively versatile as the notebook features a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port, another USB-C port with 10 Gbps as well as two USB-A ports (5 Gbps), HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, an SD card reader and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
