Black laptops are out - at least in some segments. Lenovo tries to attract such customers in the business sector as well and offers an alternative to ThinkPads with the ThinkBook series. Apart from the design, the ThinkBook 14 Gen 2 doesn't differ that much from the ThinkPad E14 Gen 2.

Well, there you have it, the ThinkBook 14 Gen 2 is a viable product that happens to be one of the best 14-inch business laptops for its price. But before you rush to buy it, you have to learn a thing or two. First, there are two battery options – a smaller 45Wh unit (which we happen to have), and a beefier – 60Wh one. Since we got only 7 hours and 26 minutes of Web browsing and an hour less video playback, we would strongly recommend going for the larger one if your retailer provides it.

Overall, the ThinkBook 14 just checks the right boxes. The performance is there, the keyboard is there, and the battery life is there. Indeed, the battery life is pretty great, and that's with the smaller battery installed in this unit. Overall, there's a ton of value here.

Lenovo's AMD Ryzen powered second generation Thinkbook offers a pretty good price to performance ratio - but you'll need to add a RAM stick first.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

77.23%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
