Room for Improvement. This 17.3-inch Lenovo model offers a powerful Intel Kaby Lake processor, lots of storage space and Windows 10 Professional, but it has its weak points: the model has only one Fast Ethernet interface, the display has low brightness and contrast and the case is relatively weak.

Some of the issues from the last generation Ideapad 110 have not be resolved but the new Pentium N4200 makes the working experience on the Ideapad V110 much better than before. The performance increase isn’t marginal as we are used to seeing while the battery life has been largely improved and again, all thanks to the new Apollo Lake chip.

Price-performance winner. Lenovo's 15.6-inch laptop comes with a Kaby Lake processor, an SSD and 8 GB of working memory. The total package costs almost 400 Euros ($400). But of course, some shortcomings should be expected at this price.
Lenovo IdeaPad V110-15IAP-80TG00W3GE
The Lenovo IdeaPad V110-15IAP-80TG00W3GE is part of the ultra-low budget lineup from Lenovo offering very basic features and usability. However, the Lenovo V110's excellent features/price ratio, coupled with a lightweight, makes it an interesting option for casual users. If it is a budget device, the savings usually begin with the materials of the finish. The Lenovo V110 is no exception. Its body is completely plastic, universal black. The surface of the cover is smooth, so dust and dirt are not collected in excessive amounts. In the upper left corner is a small golden brand logo. Minimalism in its pure form is an easily recognizable style of Lenovo. The laptop was lightweight at 1.9 kg, and compact with a dimension of 380 x 262 x 23 mm, so a user can take it anywhere he likes, without worrying that it will not fit in the bag or it will be painful to pull the shoulder off. The build quality is quite acceptable, considering the inexpensive components: the case does not creak, no backlashes are found, as well as deflections. The Ideapad V110 offers an HD (1.366 × 768 pixels) TN display, which is pretty low for today’s standards. Viewing angles are not that great, as expected, due to the TN panel. Usually, laptops offering low-end TN panels do not go higher than 190-200 cd/m² but this one scored 247 cd/m² in the center of the screen. The good brightness is a little surprising for a budget laptop. The surface of the display is anti-glare. This is good news for those who work at the window or like to use a laptop outdoors. The processor of the laptop is represented by the dual-core Intel Pentium N4200. It is manufactured in the 14 nm process part of the so-called Goldmont architecture, but it is part of the Apollo Lake generation of entry-level chips. The chip integrates four cores clocked at 1.1 GHz but can go up to 2.5 GHz using Intel’s Burst technology. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 505 is responsible for graphics. The game potential of this video accelerator is weak, i.e. it will only pull old games at low, maximum at medium settings. However, for a laptop designed for work tasks, this is not critical. The amount of RAM is 4 GB of DDR4-2133 MHz standard. The user can store important information on a 1 TB hard drive (5400 rpm). The main part of the interfaces is located on the left side of the device, namely USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, HDMI video output, RJ-45 network connector. On the right side, there is an optical DVD drive, a combined audio jack, and a Kensington lock slot. The front is a 4-in-1 card . The Lenovo IdeaPad V110-15IAP-80TG00W3GE is a basic laptop for students or home users. For its price, it is a good deal if one needs a laptop with this specs. Office drudge. Lenovo's 15.6-inch device offers a combination of a Kaby Lake processor, a solid state drive, and 8 GB of RAM (dual-channel). Windows 10 Pro serves as the operating system. There is no lack of flaws for this laptop. For example, the battery runtimes are lousy.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
Intel HD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2) found on some Kaby-Lake CPU models (15 W ULV series).
Intel HD Graphics 520: Integrated GPU (GT2) with 24 EUs found on some Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
Intel HD Graphics 505: Integrated low-end graphics adapter with DirectX 12 support, which can be found in some ULV SoCs from the Apollo Lake series.
Intel HD Graphics 610: Integrated GPU (GT1) with 12 EUs found on some low-end Kaby-Lake CPU models (15 W ULV series). Same performance as the old HD Graphics 510.

Intel Kaby Lake:
i5-7200U: Kaby-Lake based SoC with two CPU cores clocked at 2.5 to 3.1 GHz, HyperThreading and manufactured with an improved 14nm process.
Pentium 4415U: Kaby-Lake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Compared to the Core i3-7100H, the 4415U is clocked slower (2.3 versus 3 GHz), offers less Level 3 cache and a slower GPU. Both a manufactured in the same 14nm process.
Intel Core i3:
6006U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm. The maximum clock speed is only 2 GHz and Turbo Boost is not supported.
Intel Pentium:
Pentium N4200: An Apollo Lake family, quad-core, ultra-low-power processor (SoC) that saw the light of day in 2016. Its four CPU cores run at 1.1 GHz to 2.5 GHz; these are not Hyper-Threading-enabled meaning there are no additional threads. This chip has a fairly competent integrated graphics solution, the Intel HD Graphics 505, and eats very little (~6 W). The Pentium N4200 is based on the Goldmont CPU microarchitecture that came to replace Silvermont (2013), bringing with it several welcome improvements. The CPU is Secure Boot-compatible; technically, it will have no issue running 64-bit Windows 11. The average N4200 in our database competes with the Core i5-3339Y, a low-power SoC launched in 2013, in multi-thread performance.
Intel Core i5:
6200U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
71.8%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
