Lenovo's 14-inch notebook is supposed to make life difficult for Chromebooks. The device scores with a successful keyboard and a one-year MS Office 365 personal license. Computing power and memory capacity are not convincing. Just under 280 EUR are due for the Ideapad.

At under Php 60k, Lenovo managed to offer a laptop that has the latest CPU and GPU that can suit practically all kinds of yuppies who need to get work done while on the go. While there are compromises to the IdeaPad 5i—like the below-average battery life and a so-so display—it is hard to find any sub-Php 60k notebook right now that packs both a Core i7 Ice Lake processor and an MX350 discrete GPU.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5i is a highly capable sub PHP 60K laptop that is ideal for those who are looking for a daily workhorse and a multimedia companion. Its Dolby Audio-powered speakers, 14-inch FHD+ display, latest 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 512GB of SSD, dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX350 graphics card, and exclusive programs including the Microsoft Office Home and Student lifetime license made this laptop a good choice for those who need a faster device upgrade for school and work. Should you want another Intel-based laptop with a bigger display, RAM, and is more ideal for content creators, you may choose its other sibling, IdeaPad Flex 5i. However, it costs more than PHP 4,995 than the regular Slim 5i.

Lenovo's expansive lineup of 14-inch laptops just got even bigger with the introduction of the IdeaPad Slim 9i. This leather-clad Intel Evo laptop looks great and classy at first glance, but the shallow keyboard and clickpad bring the whole thing down.

I have found a lot to love in the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 9i, and I really enjoy using it. The battery life is excellent for what I do with it, the 14″ UHD display is gorgeous, and this laptop is powerful enough to do everything I need it to without lagging. Best of all, the Slim 9i is very portable and light, so I don’t think anything of putting it in my backpack and carrying it when I know I’ll need it. If you love the looks of the Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1, but you don’t need the tablet features and you are interested in something just a bit more portable, you will not be disappointed with the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 9i.

Lenovo: Lenovo ( "Le" as in the English word legend and "novo" (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. From 2004, the company has been the largest laptop manufacturer in China and got the fourth largest manufacturer worldwide after the acquisition of IBM's PC division in 2005. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company also produces monitors, projectors, servers, etc.
In 2011, Lenovo acquired the majority of Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Lenovo took over Motorola Mobility, which gave them a boost in the smartphone market.
From 2014 to 2016 Lenovo's market share in the global notebook market was 20-21%, ranking second behind HP. However, the distance decreased gradually. In the smartphone market, Lenovo did not belong to the Top 5 global manufacturers in 2016.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
AMD Radeon R4 (Stoney Ridge): Integrated graphics adapter of some AMD-A dual-core APUs ("Stoney Ridge"). Based on the GCN architecture, implements 192 shader units and runs at up to 600 MHz depending on the model. The performance can vary heavily depending on the TDP (10-15 Watts for the whole chip).
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
AMD Vega 5: Integrated graphics card of the Ryzen APUs based on the Vega architecture with 5 CUs (= 320 shaders) and a clock of up to 1400 MHz.
Intel UHD Graphics G1 (Ice Lake 32 EU): Integrated graphics card in Intel Ice-Lake G1 SoCs based on the new Gen. 11 architecture with 32 of the 64 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model ranging from 300 MHz base to 1050 - 1100 MHz boost. The Ice-Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm process at Intel produced.
NVIDIA GeForce MX350: Successor of the MX250 and most likely a renamed GeForce GTX 1050 based on the Pascal GP107 chip with 640 shaders and a 64 Bit memory bus for GDDR5.
Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 96 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.

AMD Bristol Ridge:
A6-9220e: Entry-level APU of the Stoney-Ridge series released in 2017. Integrates 2 CPU cores (1 module with two integer and one FP unit) clocked at 1.6 to 2.4 GHz and an AMD Radeon R4 graphics card clocked at 600 MHz. Compared to the similar named A6-9220 the 9220e is significantly slower clocked (2.5 - 2.9 GHz) including the GPU (600 versus 655 MHz) and can be passively cooled thanks to the TDP of 6W.
AMD Renoir (Ryzen 4000 APU):
R3 4300U: Mobile Quad-Core APU using four Zen 2 cores clocked at 2.7 to 3.7 GHz and a Vega graphics card with 5 CUs clocked at up to 1400 MHz. The CPU does not support SMT / Hyperthreading.
Intel Ice Lake:
i5-1035G1: Ice Lake-based quad-core processor for thin and light laptops. The CPU has four Sunnycove cores clocked at 1.0 GHz to 3.6 GHz that support Hyperthreading (8 threads). Furthermore, the SoC integrates a Intel UHD Graphics G1 graphics card and Wi-Fi 6 / Thunderbolt support. The chip is manufactured on the first-gen 10 nm Intel process.
i7-1065G7: Ice Lake-based quad-core processor for thin and light laptops. The four cores are clocked at 1.3 GHz to 3.9 GHz and should offer 18% more IPC (instructions per clock) than the previous generations (and therefore partly close the clock speed gap). Produced on first-gen 10 nm Intel process.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i7-1165G7: A higher-end, quad-core processor of the Tiger Lake product family. The i7 is designed to be used in ultra-light laptops. It is manufactured on the second-gen 10 nm Intel process marketed as SuperFin and it features the Iris Xe G7 (96 EUs) iGPU running at 400 MHz to 1,300 MHz. The CPU cores run at 2.8 GHz (base clock speed @ 28 W TDP) to 4.7 GHz (single-core Boost frequency). This i7 was the second-fastest CPU of the TGL-UP3 lineup when Intel initially launched the series in 2020.
