Reviews for the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15IBR-80T7008QGE

70% Lenovo Ideapad 110 review: Nice as your first laptop
Source: Gadgets Now English Archive.org version
But even though it's a markedly good budget notebook PC, it's not without its downers. These include a low-resolution display and somewhat underwhelming hardware. In the same price range (or for a little more), you can easily get entry-level laptops from brands like HP which are powered by much better Core-i3 processors and have more storage space. However, those generally don't come with Windows 10 pre-installed and use DOS or Linux instead.

60% Lenovo IdeaPad 110 review: Makes for an ideal laptop for the first-time buyer only
Source: Tech2.in.com English Archive.org version
Lenovo IdeaPad 110 is a laptop that is strictly meant for the first time buyer, who does not have power intensive requirements – in that case they should be looking at at least a Core i3 or higher models. This Pentium-processor powered laptop priced at Rs 23,990 makes for a good first laptop for school students. Of course, beware that rich media apps and heavy websites will still stutter on the laptop. It is ideal for working with word documents, watching standard definition videos, listening to music, playing Solitaire, among other things. Under Rs 25,000 price bracket, the Lenovo IdeaPad 110 offers excellent value for money.

Comment

Model: The Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15IBR-80T7008QGE is an affordable entry level laptop targeting students and home user. With an Intel Pentium Quad Core N3710 processor paired with an integrated Intel HD Graphics 405, 4 GB DDR3 RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, it is built for casual internet surfing and entertainment purpose. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed. Hence, there is no need to worry about operating system installation. The laptop measures at 14.88" x 10.43" x 0.9" (378 x 265 x 22.9 mm) and weighs starting at 4.8 lbs (2.2 kg). It is slightly (0.16 kg) heavier than a 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display and, thus, pretty standard weight. The laptop's Ebony Black color gives it a sleek and modern look, which is suitable for all age users, but it lacks in any unique style.

The display of the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15IBR-80T7008QGE is a 15.6” Twisted Nematic panel with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The twisted nematic panel is the most common display technology used in the entry level market and coupled with that low resolution, display quality is definitely below the average requirement for any decent media playback. As for entertainment purpose, the laptop is built with stereo speakers with Dolby Audio, which provides better quality audio output. Its speakers provide good sound quality for an entry level laptop. The laptop features a comfortable frameless keyboard with textured palm rest, which resists fingerprint and prevents hands from slipping. The keyboard is perfect for people who have a problem with sweaty palms and allows very fast typing. Certainly, this is due to the fact that this laptop doesn't try to save space in anyway.

Moreover, the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15IBR-80T7008QGE comes with many tools and productivity software such as Lenovo REACHit, Lenovo SHAREit, Lenovo Solution Center, PowerDVD 10 Blu-ray Disc/DVD software, Lenovo Photo Master 2.0 and Lenovo OneKey Recovery for sharing photos, organizing and backup of data. In addition, Lenovo Photo Master 2.0 provides Auto Face Swap and Smart Event Sort for easier photo organizing. The PowerDVD 10 Blu-ray Disc/DVD software is useful to have because the laptop comes with a built-in DVD burner, which is something special as many laptops in the current market do not include a DVD drive in favor of a slimmer and lighter design. The pre-installed software can be deleted if not required by the user. As for networking, the laptop comes with WiFi 802.11 a/c and 10/100M LAN. The WiFi 802.11 a/c module delivers faster connection speed than the conventional 802.11 b/g/n WiFi standard for faster browsing or streaming. It is good to see that basic laptops are also adapting this standard. For input and output ports, the laptop comes with a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, an RJ45 Ethernet port, a 3.5 mm combo audio jack and a 4-in-1 card reader capable of reading SD, SDHC, SDXC and MMC cards.

In short, the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15IBR-80T7008QGE is a good laptop for very basic multimedia usage and internet browsing. Its selling price surely does some justice for its low performing hardware configuration.

15.60":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.

65%: Such a poor rating is rare. There are only a few notebooks that were rated even worse. The rating websites do not give a purchase recommendation here.
