We tested a few Lenovo IdeaPad 1 laptops and found them to be pretty good entry-level options. The biggest highlight of this laptop series is the price point, which generally sits comfortably in the affordable range. But, of course, the value can always be better, and that's basically where this Best Buy deal steps in.

It has dropped the IdeaPad 1 15ALC7 from $799.99 to $429.99. In other words, the laptop is currently enjoying a rather large discount of $370. While this deal makes the notebook a great purchase, you need to know that it's not a very powerful machine. After all, it comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U APU.

The APU is from the Ryzen 7 5000 Pro series and was announced over three years ago. This naturally means that the chip doesn't come with some aspects that the latest mobile AMD processors are getting attention for. One of them is the Radeon 780M, an iGPU that can match dedicated graphics cards found in some laptops.

However, it should be noted that this Lenovo IdeaPad 1 laptop isn't really designed for heavy gaming. Instead, it's for productivity workloads, and it really shines in this regard. With 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, the APU inside can smoothly handle office tasks, media streaming, and light editing loads.
