Redditor MeguminShiro, who has been very accurate in leaking the free games for a while, stopped sharing hints after the Christmas prediction turned out to be inaccurate.
However, today, the leaker shared that the 12th free game for the holiday season will be a repeat. Unlike the past giveaway hints, the leaker didn't share any additional hints about what the title could be. So, given that Epic Games Store has been doing this special year-end giveaway for a while, many games match this criteria.
Looking back, on 29th December, Epic Games Store gave away:
- Snakebird Complete in 2023
- Dishonored Definitive Edition and Eximius in 2022
- Salt and Sanctuary in 2021
- Solitairica in 2020
- Talos Principle in 2019
The YouTube channel Should You Play It? has also been sharing predictions about the next free game from the very first giveaway on Epic Games Store. For the 12th title, the channel predicts that it will be an indie game and adds that it could be a repeat, matching the hint shared by MeguminShiro.
If it's indeed a repeat, and it's from the list that Epic Games Store has given away in the past few years on the same date, Talos Principle, Solitairica, Salt and Sanctuary, Eximius, and Snakebird check the indie games box. However, there's a good possibility that today's free game could be from a different genre.
