Leaked manual reveals a new wireless charger for the Samsung Galaxy S9
It's no secret that Samsung is about to unveil the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Rumors and leaked information about the much-anticipated phones have started showing up recently, such as the reveal of a new DeX Pad and the inclusion of a headphone jack on the devices as well as leaked benchmark results.
A leaked manual now reveals that the South-Korean company is working on a new version of their wireless charger which they will introduce alongside the Galaxy S9 series at the end of February during MWC. The new version is quite similar to the previous charge pad for the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Once again, the wireless charger supports both portrait and landscape orientations for charging and uses a USB-C connector on the back. A small fan on the back will help dissipate the heat produced by the wireless Qi charging.
The new wireless pad features two charging coils and supports fast charging up to 9V/1.67A, 9V/2A and 12V/2.1A. Furthermore, a LED indicator shows the current status of the charging pad. Red means the phone is charging, green tells you that charging is complete and blinking red translates into an error.
Pricing and availability details haven't been officially announced yet, although we will definitely hear more about the Samsung Galaxy S9 series and its accessories at the MWC.
