LG's flagship 27-inch Ultragear gaming monitor that boasts a 480Hz refresh rate in addition to a QHD resolution is now on sale with a 20% price cut in play.

Amazon currently has a price markdown of $200 on LG’s popular Ultragear OLED 27’ monitor (model: 27GX790A-B) that offers a relatively unique proposition versus its competition: 480Hz on a 2K (1440p) resolution.

While there is a healthy debate surrounding the utility of investing in extremely high refresh rate displays in 2025, users wanting the very best first-person shooter experience or competitive play in multiplayer titles often require bleeding-edge monitor options.

LG’s 27-inch offering caters to this by offering FPS players a blisteringly high refresh rate, an extremely low response time (0.03ms) in line with current-generation OLED monitors, and a DisplayPort 2.1 and 2 HDMI 2.1 ports to handle all the bandwidth it needs.

It also supports two of the more established anti-tear and frame sync solutions on the market, touting its support for AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia’s G-Sync compatible specifications.

The Ultragear 27GX790A-B also has RGB lighting at the rear that can make for a great look for gamers looking to showcase their setup, in addition to an adjustable stand that allows users to tilt, pivot, and swivel the monitor with ease.

It also comes with a 2-year limited warranty for US consumers, while offering gamers better audio than its peers thanks to native support for DTS HP:X while leveraging a 4-pole jack to support headsets without any hiccups whatsoever.

With an anti-glare display and support for standard VESA mounts (100x100) out of the box, users can set this up in a variety of settings as per their convenience, even if they do not want to use LG’s stand to do so.

For those who are looking for something bigger, LG's 32-inch flagship OLED monitor was heavily discounted last month and still is below MSRP, even as prices have started to go up again after hitting a historic low.

Last but not the least, the product supports a dual-mode option of 4K 240Hz or alternatively FHD 480Hz for gamers looking to switch between different game genres, as well as work and play while leveraging its considerably larger screen real estate to make it a much more versatile option than its peers.
