LG has launched its ThinQ WK9 Google Assistant Touch Screen Speaker. The AI-powered device also features audio tuned by high-end audio maker Meridian Audio.

LG has announced the LG ThinQ (think) WK9 Google Assistant Touch Screen Speaker. The new device is similar to the Amazon Echo Show, but features LG’s new AI technologies that it is marketing under the ThinQ brand. In addition to Google Assistant being built-in, it also incorporates Google’s Chromecast tech for throwing its display to a larger screen on demand.

With Apple acquiring Beats and competitors like Samsung acquiring Harman Kardon, LG has tried to ensure that the WK9 is no slouch when it comes to audio performance by partnering with Meridian Audio to ensure that the WK9 delivers a rich audio experience. In addition to packing in a large 8-inch touch screen display, the WK9 also has a front facing camera built-in for making video calls on the device.

LGs ThinkQ AI tech is designed to learn the way that you use the device in a way that allows the WK9 to get smarter by remembering usage habits and data in order to better anticipate a user’s needs. It can also be controlled through a smartphone loaded with LG’s ThinQ app that is available for both iOS an Android. Pricing and availability details are yet to be announced.
