LG Q6
The LG Q6 is a mid-range smartphone which took many features from the company’s flagship smartphone. Alike the LG G6, it features the familiar tall aspect ratio, a nearly bezel-free design, and commendable build quality that yields a smooth feeling in the hand. Two features really stick out as valid reasons to buy the Q6: its taller aspect ratio screen and the cameras. LG’s user interface scales well with most apps and is an awesome screen for watching movies. Its cameras, while sometimes tough to capture a great moment with, are capable of some surprisingly high-quality results. The Q6 calls out to the multimedia fans with its 5.5-inch FullVision display that pushes away bezels in favor for more screen real estate. Unlike most phones, this one has an 18:9 display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080. This means that it is twice as tall as wide. While this doesn’t impact general use all that much, the extra bit of screen makes watching movies and playing games a bit more immersive on the Q6. On the other hand, most videos and games aren’t designed for this size. Hence, you might end up watching youtube videos with black bars on the both sides. The LG features a single 13 MP rear-facing camera, which is amazingly capable in the right hands and in favorable lighting conditions. LG’s camera app is fast to boot from the lock screen and though it doesn’t always produce great results, it’s one of the better midrange cameras out there. For selfies, there’s a wide-angle 5 MP snapper at the front. The quality of the photos is good enough to be instantly shared on social without much editing. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC paired with 3 GB of RAM. The overall performance on the Q6 isn’t something you’d want to experience on a phone with a great display. Its processor and RAM can’t really handle all the bloatware on the phone. However, it is good enough for average users. The Q6 runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box wrapped under the LG UI 5.0. The UI is heavily customized, with bright colored theme packs and no app drawer. There is, however, an option to download Home (UX 4.0) from the settings menu, which brings back the app drawer. The phone features 32 GB on-board storage and the storage capacity can be expanded with a microSD card. Fortunately, LG has opted for a separate slot for the microSD card, and not the hybrid SIM slots offered by several Chinese companies. The device supports 4G LTE on both SIM cards. During testing, call quality and volume levels were satisfactory. The LG Q6 comes with a 3,000mAh battery, which is a fairly modest capacity for a phone of this size and price. Like most phones available now, the Q6 can last a day of use without problems. However, multimedia or Twitter fans will likely finish their day at the 20 % battery charge level. The Q6 offers what most mid range phones do not. It comes with a great screen and camera, yet basic hardware. Hence it is suitable for users who do not require performance but would still love to have a good looking phone and watch high quality videos. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Trimmed. The looks of the LG Q6 closely resemble those of the LG G6, only at a much lower price point. The trade-off is its trimmed performance, a performance that makes the phone struggle hard in its price range. We will find out whether the phone is a recommendable purchase.

The LG Q6 offers generally solid performance in a sleek and durable form factor for a reasonable price, whether you buy it using Amazon Prime or not. And it's even more alluring with the loss of loss of Huawei and ZTE in the US, two very strong players in the unlocked market.

The Q6 impresses with its screen, bearing an aspect ratio that still isn't common under €300, and small bezels which make it very easy to use with one hand. It banks on looks that are similar to the flagship G6, at least on one side, and will be the perfect choice for someone who prioritizes that above all.

Unofficially titled the “LG G6 mini”, the Q6 is an impressive midrange phone on its own. While it lacks certain flagship features and annoyingly, a fingerprint sensor, the FullVision display and rear-facing camera are stand-out inclusions that you probably won’t find elsewhere for this cheap.

The LG Q6 is a beautiful device and looks like a modern day flagship, but it doesn't feel like one. During my time with the phone, I was constantly reminded that I was using a mid-range device with its lack of notification light and fingerprint sensor, its over-sharpening camera, its mediocre battery and easily scratchable plastic finish.

Let’s face it, most people do not WANT to buy a $349 phone but do it out of necessity. Not everyone can afford the $1000-$1500 required for a flagship in 2017 and thus there needs to be options for consumers at all price points. With the Q6 LG are trying to bring as many of their flagship features to their, well they say mid-range but I will call $349 low-range, devices.

When we took a closer look at the Q6 in late August, we pondered whether this mid-range device could in fact serve as a G6 mini of sorts. Following our time reviewing the Q6, it sadly is not the case. While the specifications of the Q6 will stand you in good stead for now, we don't think it will be the case one year down the line, particularly when more powerful mid-range phones are on offer.

If you are more interested in technical specs, then the Samsung J7 seems like a worthy choice, because on the paper, it does look more powerful – but also bigger and heavier. Note that the J7 has only 16GB of storage, so you may want to look at micro-SD cards. Finally, if you want less pre-loaded apps, and a leaner interface maybe the Nokia 6 would be a fine choice.

The new LG Q6 fits perfectly into the pocket of mid-range buyers at Rs 15,999. It clearly justifies the price tag with the kind of specifications it has to offer. The device lags on multitasking, wish they could have added some more RAM in a phone for better performance in multitasking! For people on a budget, this is the closest they could get to getting flagship look-alike at very affordable price.

The LG Q6, for all intents and purposes, can be considered as a mini G6. The mid-level Q6 looks every bit as futuristic as LG's flagship G6. It feel as good, if not better, and is built from scratch to take a beating (although that plastic back is susceptible to scratches) something that not a lot of phones at around Rs 15,000 can really brag about. Its 18:9 Full Vision display, meanwhile, adds a third dimension to the Q6, much like the G6. LG has even gone on and added the same set of software gimmicks to it, to make that unusual aspect ratio count, as the flagship G6. Unlike the G6, however, the Q6 costs just Rs 14,990.

We cannot recommend the LG Q6, however. The lack of a fingerprint reader, unimpressive cameras, and other minor issues just make it tough to justify over competing options. Unless you really want a near bezel-less display for a cheap price, you will probably be happier with something else.

Based on our analysis, the LG Q6 has several factors that work in its favour and some that don't. It has a beautiful display with wide 18:9 aspect ratio which we've seen with the flagship LG G6. The body is compact and light-weight while the battery is one of the most appealing corners in the device. The camera too works flawlessly across the board.

The highlight of the LG Q6 is the display and the design. But as I said the specifications, including the Qualcomm 435 processor, battery life, make this appear to be a more expensive proposition for most people. If you want a more compact phone with a unique display, then the LG Q6 is an option to consider. However, those looking for a blazing performance or a great camera at this budget should probably examine options in the market.

To sum up, the LG Q6 comes with a surprisingly compact form factor and the FullVision display does almost do a decent job. However, other than this, the overall performance of the smartphone is not matchable with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Moto G5 Plus, Honor 6X and more, as each of one of them comes loaded with better hardware arsenal and have proved their mettle in the market.

There are no second thoughts about the fact that the LG Q6 is one very good looking device. But priced at Rs. 14,999, it faces some tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi, Moto, Lenovo, Huawei, and even Samsung. Apart from the 18:9 screen ratio, there is nothing particularly outstanding in the device. The camera is decent, the battery is average, and the overall performance is not that great. You get a similarly specced device (minus that display but plus a larger battery), the Xiaomi Redmi 4 under Rs. 10,000, and if we move into the Q6’s price range, then the likes of the Lenovo K8 Note, the Redmi Note 4, the Honor 6X and the Moto G5 Plus start making their presence felt, more than matching it in all departments other than that display. The Q6 definitely looks future proof, but its performance and price hark more to a period of the past.

Overall, LG Q6 is an above average device packing nothing special in it if not for FullVision display. With Q6, LG has tried too hard to make a dent in the mid-range market but failed. At a price of Rs. 14,990, the LG Q6 lacks fingerprint, has a scratch prone plastic back and average camera. Unless and until, if you don’t mind spending Rs. 15,000 for a phone with a large screen in a compact size, you can go for LG Q6. If not, you have lots of options including, Moto G5 Plus, Honor 6X, Lenovo P2 and more.

The 18:9 screen aspect ratio is sure to become popular in the smartphone world, and the LG Q6 looks futuristic despite its value pricing, which could be a major selling point. Even a few of years down the line, the Q6 should still look modern. It has Bluetooth 4.2 (no mention of NFC), and 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 2.4GHz only. It supports WiFi direct and can provide a WiFi hotspot. The phone supports the common 4G bands. No mention is made of super high performance LTE specs, so I guess it’s pretty much standard on that front. The socket at the bottom of the phone is Micro-B USB.

At its price of €200 in India and at the lower prices in the UK and Australia, we can easily overlook the phone’s flaws (well, it’s hard to forgive the lack of a fingerprint scanner…) and blame it all on the cost, but at the €350 full retail price in Europe, there are far better options out there.

LG Q8
A new addition to Q series. Just a little while ago LG released the Q6 model and after a very little while they are back with Q8. Yet, LG did it pretty quietly, since the Q8 is just a smaller version of the V20. Some websites also call it V20 2017 or V20 Pro. Teh LG Q8 comes with 5.2 inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. It has a metal body and has IP67 certification, which means it is water and dust proof. It is a flagship device by any means. But let’s say a budget one. While making a decision, you can compare it to the G6 from LG. Compared to the G6, there are some minor differences in the hardware. The G6 uses a Snapdragon 821 SoC, while there is a Snapdragon 820 Soc inside the Q8. None of them is the best in their class of course, but the Snapdragon 821 has slightly higher clock rate. Will you notice the difference? Probably not. Teh Q8 also has a secondary screen, but lets say a virtual one . You can use it for quick settings, shortcuts etc. It comes with a dual rear camera, 13 MP + 8 MP and a 5 MP front camera. They both are fine. Just your night pictures won’t be that great. But this applies to almost all devices today. The video capabilities are just the same as the G6's, so you are not missing a thing. The case is made of polycarbonate, while the G6's is of glass. That is the main difference between two models. However, the G6 has a bit more technologies installed. The sensors are: Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass; same as the G6's. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh. LG claims that you get 100 hours of speaking time, which is more than enough. It will cover a whole day usage. But, the battery life definitely depends on how you use your device. There is not much to complain about the device. Since it is a minified version of the V20 or lets say the G6. Every complain, criticism about them also applies to the Q8. Should you be buying the Q8? If you are not tight on budget, but decided to buy a handset from LG, you should go for the G6 instead of the Q8. Why? Well, first, it is better, second its hardware is a bit better and worth the surplus. If you are on budget and can not buy the G6: Yes, you should purchase the Q8. On the other hand, the Q8 is priced around 600 to 700$ at the time of writing. Hence, it can not be considered cheap. Therefore you better look for competitors first. Huawei, Honor, Asus… They all provide new devices and some of them are in the same price range. Hands-on article by Ümit Yılmaz GüneşSpecifications

LG Q7 Plus
The LG Q7+ is a smartphone considered to be a mid-range device in the LG Q series. Despite being placed in the mid-range segment, the Q7+ is powered by the Snapdragon 450 SoC - a budget SoC that powers devices such as the Xiaomi Redmi 5. Despite this, the performance is rather smooth for light usage. The LG Q7+ is designed to provide premium comfort. The real metal frame complemented by gently curved 2.5D arc glass is as nice to look at as it is to hold. The phone is available in Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue color options. At just 143.8 x 69.3 x 8.4 mm, it is also quite handy in terms of form factor; it is smaller than the G6 and G7+ ThinQ, but just a wee bit thicker than these flagships. It is also fairly light at just 145 grams. The Q7+ features a rear fingerprint sensor for unlocking the device seamlessly and now has added functionality, such as doubling up as a camera shutter or a screenshot button based on the app you are using. Users can even scroll down on it to bring down the notifications bar and check all active notifications. The phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance and has a military grade MIL-STD 810G certification. This makes the Q7+ shockproof, waterproof and dustproof to meet the IP68 rating.
It features an 8MP front camera with Portrait mode for bokeh effect, both in real-time or after shooting the scene, as well as a 16MP rear camera with PDAF, short for phase detection AF. It is supposedly 23% faster than traditional AF according to LG. It features portrait mode, which allows users to take shots with the subject in sharp focus, standing out against an artfully blurred background. Furthermore, the camera features a mode call QLens, which was first introduced with the LG V30S ThinQ. It scans anything onscreen and surfaces links to buy it online at Amazon. Pinterest integration also surfaces matching images in case users were looking for them. As for the display, it features a 5.5-inch Full-HD+ FullVision display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It can maximize the user’s view and enjoyment on a display that delivers clearer picture quality, and a more vivid visual experience. In terms of the operating system, the device runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. Users can also enjoy 3D audio with DTS:X surround sound technology that can mimic 7.1-channel audio on a headset. Apart from the flagship LG G7+ ThinQ, no other phone in the market has this feature. For charging, it features fast charging, which means one can charge the device faster than with conventional chargers thanks to the easy-to-connect and reversible Type-C connector.

While they're the same size as the Note 8 and 9, they use a less powerful processor, basic stylus without pressure support and have single cameras. Nor does LG specify what the display technology is, but it's unlikely to be OLED.

LG Q7+ BTS Limited Edition
How do you make a device popular if you can not be innovative in production? How can you make a device limited, so it becomes popular? LG has good answers to those questions. Of course, calling LG not being innovative is harsh, and I don’t mean that. But in terms of their smartphones, there is nothing new. Most of the devices can be considered as middle class, and the Q7 is no different. Yet, LG manages to make some noise. How? By partnering with a band, “BTS”, and producing a limited version of smartphones in that partnership.
How cool it is to receive a wake up/good night call from your favourite singer? Special emojis? Filters/frames for your phones? All from BTS. If you are a true BTS fan, this is your dream phone. Other than that, well, it is a normal Q7 Plus. Yeah, that is the truth. Let’s not forget the fact that there are only 700 pieces available. So, it is very limited. Could it be counted as something collectible? I doubt that, but still, it does not change the fact that it is limited. So, a kind of coolness factor.
For me to judge whether buying this phone is worth it or not is a bit hard. I only use my smartphone, you know, just as a smartphone, and I don’t value the brand effect that it comes with. For some, these devices are more than smart devices, they become part of their identities, and the Q7+ BTS can literally become a part of you if you really want it to.
Specs-wise, it is not different from many of the other mid-level smartphones out there. Therefore, your purchase decision should be entirely based on whether or not you are a fan of BTS. Special emojis, frames for selfies, etc., are just a justification point for your fandom. If you are not a fan of BTS, you can still go with a regular Q7 and be happy with it.
Still, if you are someone who is looking for very good specs/hardware/cameras and at the same time happen to be a BTS fan, you can be disappointed. Because performance-wise, you will not find what you are looking for. So, be careful about why you are making this purchase. Otherwise, it is cute.

LG Q60
LG has not been doing so well on the flagship level. With Huawei, Samsung and even OnePlus taking the stage, LG has been pretty much left out in the dark. Its latest flagship, the G8, has sales figures that are far smaller than those of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series and the Huawei P30. LG plans to get sales figures up in the mid-range series. Its latest mid-range device, the Q60, looks very much like the G8. It is the most premium phone in their mid-range series. For a start, the Q60 measures only 8.7 mm in thickness. Its front consists mostly of the screen, but the bezels are quite thick on all sides, especially at the bottom, bringing the screen-to-body ration to about 79%. The screen has a tear-drop style notch to maximize its size. It is a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels, which is pretty low for a screen of this size. This brings the pixel count to 269 pixels per inch. Early reviews put the LCD at an acceptable level. The brightness is on the lower side, especially in typical outdoor usage. The phone comes with a 2GHz Octa core processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Additionally, the storage can be expanded by up to 1 TB by using a micro-SD card. Performance wise, the phone is good enough for a device in this price range.
In terms of cameras, the LG Q60 gives much more than what other phones can give in this price range. Its triple camera setup consists of a 16MP + 5MP + 2MP depth sensor. This gives some really good photos. The front camera has 13 MP, which should be good enough for the occasional selfies and video calls. The LG Q60 has a 3.5mm head phone jack at the bottom, which supports DTS surround sound. This budget phone features a rear fingerprint scanner that is as accurate as it gets for this type of sensor. Powering all this is a 3500mAh battery which should give great battery life with that lower resolution screen. The LG Q60 delivers strong hardware performance for its price. However, its lower resolution display might not be ideal for many users. Besides, its main competition, the Samsung A30, costs around the same, but it has a bigger AMOLED display and a bigger battery. Its camera performance is almost the same, but the device design is much better than that of the LG Q60.

LG brings a triple camera in the middle class and with the Q60 in particular, puts multimedia applications in the foreground. The 19:9 screen and a good sound should be the main highlights, but the Google Assistant with integrated LG voice commands gets even greater importance. In our test we check how the interaction works.

With a retail price of R3 800 in South Africa, the LG Q60 is up against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy A20 and Huawei Y7 2019, pretty similar devices at that price point, with a few things that counts for and against them. While the wider camera gives the LG Q60 the edge for photography, its screen resolution knocks it back down again. Nonetheless, the LG Q60 should definitely be on your mid-range shortlist if you’re aiming for the sub-R4k mark.

LG’s Q70 is a good mid-range smartphone. It offers a solid experience without the premium specs of more expensive smartphones. Upfront the LG Q70 costs $520 CAD, and for a mid-range smartphone that offers such nice design and a decent overall user-experience, it's worth that price. That said, there are other mid-rangers on the market like the Pixel 3a that offer a better camera experience, stock Android but an overall worse look. I don’t think the Q70 is the best mid-range handset on the market, but someone looking for a competent, inexpensive Android smartphone, likely won't find many issues with this device.

LG:
LG Electronics Inc. is a subsidiary of LG Group. It is a South Korean company and was founded as Goldstar Co, Ltd, in 1958. The group offers products in the fields of information technology, consumer electronics and mobile communications, and home appliances. LG Electronics is the world's third largest home appliance manufacturer. As a notebook manufacturer, LG only became known to a wider audience in the German-speaking market in 2005. After a few years, LG largely withdrew from the laptop sector. The product range includes OLED, LED/LCD and plasma TVs, home theater systems, Blu-ray players as well as audio and video players.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Qualcomm Adreno 505: Mid range graphics card integrated in the Snapdragon 430 and 435 SoCs. Based on the 500 generation and supports modern standards like Vulkan 1.0, OpenGL ES 3.1 + AE, OpenCL 2.0 and DirectX 12.

71.81%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
