Reviews for the LG Optimus G Pro E985

75% LG Optimus G Pro (E988) Review
Source: Tech2.in.com English Archive.org version
LG’s Optimus G Pro is available online for a smidge under Rs 40,000, which is an expensive buy now that the Galaxy S4 is down to Rs 36,500. If screen size is what you’re looking for, then Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 is still a very relevant option and is a lot cheaper too. We feel the G Pro has entered the market a little too late and a price cut is in order if LG wishes to move them off the shelf. Some of the standout features includes the gorgeous screen, incredibly snappy response, good battery life, IR blaster with the very handy QRemote app and a form factor that’s not terribly unusable for one-handed operations.

LG Optimus G Pro from AT&T Review
Source: Hot Hardware English Archive.org version
If you're considering a purchase of the Optimus G Pro, the phone's large, 5.5-inch screen is likely a key feature that has caught your eye. Indeed, the screen looks great, and the fact that it supports Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution is a definite selling point as well. However, although the Optimus G Pro's large screen is definitely an attractive feature, the resulting increase in the phone's footprint will deter some users.

80% LG Optimus G Pro specs and review: oversized smartphone with a beautiful screen
Source: Tech Advisor English Archive.org version
LG’s Optimus G Pro is king of the small—but growing—phone/tablet hybrid market (I refuse to use the term “phablet”). It’s a performance powerhouse that, despite its large size, is relatively comfortable to use even with average-size hands. The G Pro loses a few points for its limited multitasking features, but if you’re looking to buy a large Android phone and aren’t dismayed by the underperforming camera, then the G Pro is definitely worth considering.

Positive: useful software adaptions

Model:

The LG Optimus Pro E985 is the latest offering from LG that successfully attempts to gain market shares from the biggest companies on the market. It resembles the popular Galaxy Note II, with a light plastic body that feels solid and well constructed. The gorgeous and expansive screen measures 5.5 inches, with a lovely 1920 x 1080 resolution. Colors are immersive and beautiful, and the responsive screen supports 10 point multi-touch, and handles it well too. The beautiful screen paired with the great onboard speakers turn this into a multimedia powerhouse.

Creating media with the 13 MP camera is a breeze too. The brilliant auto mode makes taking great photos easy. Recording HD video with the LG Optimus G Pro E985 is great and it includes stabilization. The performance matches the most popular devices' on the market with its 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and a satisfying storage capacity of 32 GB. It comes with an infrared blaster just like the one found in most flagship smartphones these days and a brilliant remote app that is easily one of the best out there, beating the competition in functionality. In addition, the battery will easily last a full day with moderate to intensive use, or a day and a half with light use. One disadvantage of the LG Optimus Pro E985 is the cluttered UI that LG has overlain on Android. If the UI does not frustrate the user, it is a great device.

5.50":

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

LG:

LG Electronics Inc. is a subsidiary of LG Group. It is a South Korean company and was founded as Goldstar Co, Ltd, in 1958. The group offers products in the fields of information technology, consumer electronics and mobile communications, and home appliances. LG Electronics is the world's third largest home appliance manufacturer. As a notebook manufacturer, LG only became known to a wider audience in the German-speaking market in 2005. After a few years, LG largely withdrew from the laptop sector. The product range includes OLED, LED/LCD and plasma TVs, home theater systems, Blu-ray players as well as audio and video players.

89.67%: There are not very many models that are rated better. Most of the assessments are in percentage ranges below that. The tested product is not considered perfect, but the sources give a clear purchase recommendation.
